“Do you guys,wanna see the band or do you wanna see the bouncers?”
@robertjackiii17512 жыл бұрын
In the 90's their rehearsal room was right next door to my band's room at the studio... Talk about super cool 😎! When we were done with our set, I would always stay late to see if I could catch them playing down the hall... I was working hard on my music and then I got to listen to one of my old favorites live on the same night! I couldn't believe, of all the bands that could've had that room next door, that it would turn out to be them! It was a treat, and a dream come true every time I heard them in that room...!

You might like RKL,GISM,Warzone,Poison Arts,Gang Green,ANTiSEEN,Bad Brains,and Cro-Mags from around this period aswell if you haven't already heard all of the above. The standards for 80s Era Metallic HC I guess at least to me.

This was one of the albums i purchased on compact disc (along with FEAR,TSOL,etc) as the format was still kinda new way back in 1989. I have long lost that CD but listening to this 3 decades later I realize that this is a very well done live recording. I played at CBGBs before and the soundman could dub you a raw soundboard to cassette or VHS for cheap,but this record is done very nicely considering all the onstage slam dance ,stage diving antic i assume were happening at this show. Eventually saw AF open up for Cannibal Corpse and Obituary in Texas to a 90% death metal crowd. Agnostic Front were totally on fire and kinda blew away the headliners with a crystal clear sound and tons of energy.

New York Hardcore: Well not everything was so left wing in the old days, Cause for Alarm from Agnostic Front, Peter Steeles Carnivore, Billy Milanos M.O.D., early Biohazard, there were some controversial lyrics like Aren't you hungry from M.O.D. for example. @hankgege21994 жыл бұрын
Yes. According to some writings on the history of NYHC from 80-84 alot of sort of left wing bands like Heartattack, False Prophets, Reagan Youth, Kraut, No Thanks, and from 84 on the right wing skinhead scene took over along with Crossover thrash like Agnostic Front, Cromags, Warzone, Murphys Law, and Youth Defense League. Not saying these bands were racist they just had some right wing views. But actually from reading, AF and Cause for Alarm got along with both scenes. CFA touring with MDC and Roger's girlfriend at the time was Amy the singer for political crust left wing band Nausea
