That's it ,no drama,no bullshit, end of story. Quincy wished Michael well, regardless of bullshit that people think or say about him ,they both moved on and that was that.

There been stories how Quincy knew the sound was changing, and wanted Mike to have a new sound, I guess they couldn't come to a conclusion with the 50 songs already recorded, and they both wanted something bigger, and Mike also wanted a new sound, hence why Quincy helped Teddy get the meeting, which Teddy literally just said in the video

The crazy thing is, I went to visit my aunt in the hospital back then, and there was a huge glass display that had his hat and glove in it. I also remember walking into the mall, and you could barely get through the door without almost falling over the Thriller Jackets display ($450 per jacket). I was a huge fan of Prince, too, but Prince just could not do it like Mike; Mike just had something magic about him that no other artist did. I was one of the lucky ones back then because I looked just like Mike; all the girls used to call me Michael and had massive crushes on me.. How ironic I grew up to name my first child Michael Joseph. 🥰

Since Teddy Riley was unclear in his answer, here’s the “Cliff Notes” version of what happened: - Michael and his B-Team of producers started working on ‘Bad’ in January 1985. Quincy was working on other projects at the time such as ‘The Color Purple.’ - When Quincy joined the ‘Bad’ sessions in July 1986, most of the album was done. Q and MJ clashed over creative differences. Q wanted more live instrumentation like ‘Off the Wall’ and ‘Thriller’; MJ wanted to use sounds the human ear hadn’t heard before. - While Michael admired Quincy as a mentor/father figure, he knew ‘Bad’ would be their last album together. They fulfilled their contractual obligations plus MJ grew tired of critics saying (1) he abandoned his black roots, and (2) Quincy was the reason for his success. - MJ recruited Teddy Riley for ‘Dangerous’ in early 1990. And before MJ gave ‘Dangerous’ to Epic/Sony, he sent the album to Quincy for his feedback. Q called it a “masterpiece.”

Umm.. Teddy Riley is the last person I want to hear from when it comes to Michael Jackson. Isn't this the same dude who put out a posthumous album, "Michael" using ANOTHER MAN's voice (knowingly) then lied about it on Oprah so that he could get profit? The songs have recently been removed from Spotify. Shady people all over Hollywood. ..

Quincy Jones was more in a executive producer mode than spending time...actually composing...you have to remember that Quincy Jones was working with A&M Records, he had his Qwest label to supervise, he had Patti Austin, Siedah Garrett, James Ingram, and other artists under his wing with Tevin Campbell being a teenager with the potential to have the successful career Micheal had as a solo artist...at a even younger age...people also need to remember that MJ was signed to Epic before Sony entered the picture and he had his own management team after Joe Jackson was pushed out...MJ had released a couple of solo albums before Quincy Jones entered the picture...Micheal was co-writing and co-producing songs ...trying to stay current and not being left behind ...he was about to launch MJJ Records with Quo, 3T, Brownstone, Floetry, and others...MJ hired Teddy to give him a updated sound !

Michael was writing music at a young age, helping choreograph and produce at a young age, gave input into music video concepts. Tevin was talented as a singer at a similar age as Michael was, but that was his major strength. You really can't compare them. Remember by the time Off The Wall (a classic, great album) was released, Michael was 2 weeks shy of turning 21. Incredible.

Most people say THRILLER was mikes biggest album… I say it’s BAD. Bad was musically on another level and it was so different. Speed demon, Liberian girl, the way you make me feel and man in the mirror among others. I think that album had more singles on it than any of his albums. That album was so classic!!!

Bruh stop! Thriller changed the game musically. They thought they couldn't go any further with Off The Wall that was a perfect R&B/Disco album and they came back and changed the game with a sound never heard before.Bad is Micheal's 4th best album I liked most of the sound overall but the only highlights as you mentioned were The Way You Make Me Feel,Man in the Mirror, and Smooth Criminal.Speed Demon was corny even though I liked the beat and so was Liberian Girl.Dirty Diana and Give In To Me was more rock they were cool but nothin to put on repeat like most of the album.History was better than Bad shit even Dangerous might've been and I really didn't like that album that much either except for like 5 or 6 songs. After your first two albums were perfect or changed the game there's nowhere to go but down

i believe michael and quincy not working together was a mutual understanding between the two. michael started working and writing songs for the dangerous album in 1989 after the bad tour ended and it was the end of the 80’s decade heading into the 90’s and the new jack swing sound was taking over and michael was fully aware of that and wanted to include that sound with a twist of his style onto the dangerous album. michael was all about evolving and doing different sounds and wanted complete creative control of how his album should sound. michael learned a lot from quincy he started working with him at 18-19 years old and now it’s the end of the decade entering the 90’s and michael was 31-32 years old michael was on a whole new vibe and the album still became highly successful without quincy’s producing touch.
