I am a lifelong resident of Philadelphia. I remember when Mike Vick took over as the starter. I had no problem with the Eagles signing him. He did his time. The moment he took the field it was something special. It was the most exciting chapter in Eagles history. Mike Vick was explosive, could throw the ball deep and the dynamic when he took off running full speed capped it off. He made ever fan nervous on more than a few occasions. He took some hard hits but got up and kept going. What impressed me the most was seeing Mike having fun out there, being a leader, and taking it all in. We will always love Mike Vick in Philadelphia and will forever be grateful for his time as an Eagle. I have so much respect for the man off the field. He was able to handle being the $100 million dollar quarterback, falling down into the abyss being released from Atlanta and picked up by a system that so many Americans find themselves in as a country with the largest prison population. 24 months in one of the toughest prisons would break many people. He was able to keep his mind and body intact. A different Mike Vick got released from the system. In my opinion it was the best version of Mike Vick once he arrived in Philadelphia. I was happy to see him flourish as a starter. I wish him and his family nothing but the best going forward in life. We are living in unprecedented times. We all go thru ups and downs. Lately it seems like most people have had to deal with more down moments with all that has happened as of late. Going back and watching the highlights from Mike Vick's time here in Philly helped pick me up when I was down at times. We all make mistakes in this life. What we do following those mistakes is what's truly important and if you focus on moving forward, without any excuses and put in the effort, any one of us can dig ourselves put from a rut and shine. Learn from it all and give advice to others if it is at all possible. We can all improve ourselves each and everyday. Best of luck to everyone out there.

Mike isnt a bad guy as he is painted out to be, first things first he was a victim of his circumstances he was surrounded by people he grew up with and he thought were genuine and the way that they lived growing up was normal to them but wrong or abnormal to the high class/rich folk he ended up around because of his skills. I give him a lot of credit for growing and maturing through all of the bullshit and being a decent human being and also being able to get back up on his own two feet and take care of his responsibilities as a man.
