Plus they don't want their stats to look pathetic and expose themselves for not really caring. Bottom line is you get out of it what you put in. Almost all my friends dropped out. I knew my Mom would never sign me out and I didn't turn 18 until after I graduated. My logic was if I have to do this I might as well pass. I had a friend who never made it past freshman year for 3 and a half years just to drop out at 18. And I was cutting classes right along with them. I realized if you showed up for tests and did major projects you'd be ok. Im not proud of any of this, just speaking my truth. Schools are not designed for you to fail, it's the students decision.

The credit system probably differs from district to district, state to state, etc. Where I went to school there wasn't enough time in 4 years to accumulate over 200 credits. 8 periods a day including lunch and study hall, so you may as well say 6 periods of potential credits. And credits could have been as low as a half credit, to no more than 2. Thats why 150 sounded extreme to me, but 200 sounds downright impossible lol.
