I'm a REAL hip hop head and I grew up in the 90's and on the low DJ Paul and Juicy J's production rivaled the Rza's, Dre, Pete Rock, Havoc, or whoever was dope at that time. The way they chopped up those Memphis Soul samples was akin to the RZA but they'd put them 808's, loop the hook and add some horror movie flicks to that shit, it was epic. I can def hear that sound in a producer's like 808 MAfia, Sonny Digital, Metro, DJ L and the likes.
@patrickoakley78904 жыл бұрын
Yep, I loved all those producers but Juice and Paul didn't get the same recognition due to the era they came up in. The media wasn't really paying attention to the Midwest and the South up to the point No Limit blew the doors open, even more than OutKast did. Their beats were so crazy that you couldn't even play some of their records in the club because niggas would damn near burn the bitch down!
@homedeezyfasheezy56623 жыл бұрын
You could even say overall they were better. 36 was able to go pretty strong up until 2008 as far as production goes. I know Rza has had some jams during that time but 36 was steady putting out beats producing whole albums for several of their artist throughout that decade. Hell lol wyte almost went gold independent off his first albums and 36’s most successful album dropped in 05. I know it’s kinda a apples/oranges debate but 36 is definitely up there as far as all time greatest producers.

Does anyone have a count on how many times dj Paul touches his glasses during this interview? I lost count. Was play a drinking game where we take a shot everytime he touched his glasses and I just got out the hospital.
