I dont remember who he was. Clearly, I'm not a big-time player. So he came and have to take off his jewelry but he left it. My tech called him saying he left it here. He said just hold it for me. I will come back next. My tech was like fuck no. Told him to come back to get it. My tech has no idea how much its worth. So he cane back to get it. Then this player came back the next week not sure why. He came and had a bunch of basketballs signed by every Laker on the team and he was giving it out to the children in the cancer center. So my tech said " Man these kids are goibg to be excited to have a ball sign by the Lakers and Kobe. The player said Fuck Kobe. He refused to sign it. Kobe exuse was this player might just try to go sell it to make money. So for the fact Kobe signed it for his pastor says alot.

Smush was just being mentored by kobe and he didn't even know it. This interview provided insight into their situation. Smush was just young and naive at that time and that's he felt a certain way. He said it himself that he was just playing basketball during his career just for the love of it. You have to understand that Kobe understood that since he was probably 6 years old (he grew up watching his dad as a professional basketball player). So they both came into the game with a drastically different mindset. If you replaced smush with Wade or Chris Paul, or anyone else who was more mature at that age, it would've been a different outcome.

not the first time ive heard an NBA player talk about the NBA essentially killing their love for the game. In no way am i blaming the NBA. but ppl have to think about the NBA, the business. Its a grind, just by the schedule and going all around the country, plus PT and practices. Not to mention dealing with so called fans, that are getting more and more worse by the season. Yes, theyre getting paid plenty to deal with it all. I get that. But from just a human being aspect, thats alot. And it surprises me none when alot of them become kind of desensitized and out of touch with alot of things. Paranoid even.
