Something different about the N. O. mentality. P built a rap empire and he isn't even a good rapper. Tyler Perry built an empire and his movies aren't great and he can't act. Both of these dudes went to the negotiation table with leverage though. They did it the right way. From the ground up. They invested in themselves so reaped a bigger reward than people going to the table asking for deals. Spike Lee can say what he wants about Tyler Perry but Tyler never had to start a go fund me to try and get a movie made. The tripped out part is I like Spike's movies a lot more but Tyler is obviously the smarter business man.
