Everyone reading this account in it's context would have know that this was an incestuous, sinful act. Just because the author chooses not to explicitly say "this was sinful" doesn't mean that he or she is condoning it. Think about a news article about a gruesome murder. The author of the article does not need to explicitly state the horror of bloodshed because they understand that their readers already know that truth. They are relaying information with an implied condemnation based on the norms of the society.

Not all Natives had their language taken. The elders of the various tribes were able to pass down most of the aspects of their culture. African slaves were forbidden to speak their native language. We have no sense of our African culture from our ancestors. Native Americans were also slave owners and played a part in the loss of our culture as well. Please stop blaming Christianity for things that happen in your life...I am not trying to be insensitive at all. Not all Churches are making money like Mega Churches. My church USED to give out interest free loans, and you pay it back in a certain time...but alot of ppl took out these loans for house downpayment etc. And then turned around and did not want to pay back the loan. That was money for the church to help out the members and they in turn had to stop loaning money. My Pastor and his wife both worked a 9 to 5 job, we( the church) are not paying them a salary. We have a Pastor appreciation dinner 1 time a yr and you can give gift and money is raised for them to show our appreciation but that is once a year and it's not like it a large amount. Their are some churches that take advantage etc BUT it is not all...so please stop bashing a religion just because of a bad situation that can end up happening to anyone. Please don't let the devil fool you
