I videotaped this short TV show in the early 90's. Interview and some samples of one live show (at Café de la Danse ?)

What a tragic loss! Always opinionated, astute, brilliant and honest. My hero. We will miss you, Bob. Namaste, Brother. Hope to see you in the next world. We'll jam . . .

Unfortunately he was paedophile. Not such a great man after all.

I remember discovering him through a record he made with René Lacaille. I must admit, I completely had no idea what kind of fellow he was, until two days ago, while looking for some infos on resophonic guitars. oh boy, I wish I had half of his talent. I'm also a nostalgic of the past, the design of the 20's, the early jazz, black and white movies... technology from this period had something special in it. or maybe it's just the steam-punk Sci-Fi fan in me talking.

It was recorded in Paris at Café de la Danse. I was there, I was an incredible show. There is a DVD of a show taped in Berkeley which was recorded, IMHO about the same time.

After seeing this guy I fell like I am at the beginning of playing all over again. Awsome stuff.

because most guitarists play with very little feeling, and bob is a fantastically emotional musician; every song is a story. Like he says on another video 'you play really well, but what does it mean?'

+Bebe Na Vole I do not know what he uses, if anything, but some have had luck with the same rosin used on the violin bow. A little sticky will do ya!

First one is called 'huehue,' and the last one is definitely 'Ta-Hu-Wa-Hu-Wai' a.k.a. Hawaiian War Chant. There other song (songs?) in the middle aren't remotely familiar to me, so I don't even have any hints to desperately google with.
