I watch your videos to gain a little knowledge/been their done that. I really like your videos and now realise when I call a bike mechanic you are as baffled at first as me lol. I admire your workmanship and ultimately also realise if I called you out you would bring a wealth of tried and tested methods and diagnostics. This sir is what we call you out for and as far as I can see you are a top notch mechanic and I hope your business venture goes from strength to strength, sir:) Please continue uploading your videos as I followed your fork oil replacement video with your "little helper" on my VTR 1000F FIRESTORM and it has transformed my PRIDE AND JOY:) You may laugh but the fork oil video has totally transformed my pride and joy and I wish to tell others to follow it up and I ultimately wish to thank you, sir.

Aftermarket alarms systems are the spawn of the devil, had similar issues on my Fazer 1000, ripped it all out, out back to factory spec, all works mint as Fook a tell thee.

Another great video - always good to see a professional mechanic faffing about and getting confused, makes me feel less useless in my own garage. :) The beanie I ordered from you arrived by the way, it looked stupid on me but suited my girlfriend so I gave it to her. I think people are more likely to pay attention to her than me anyway.

I have seen loads of those alarms do just that mostly about 4 years old.Theres an internal battery that cant be changed I have always thought that was the problem but I dont know. They have a 3 year warranty and always last at least 3 years.I have fitted maybe 50 of them and removed about 30.

I had a a Datatool did that, battery went down wouldn't hold a charge so if it squeaked for ANY reason (like, arm / disarm), no battery charge left and it wouldn't respond to the remote for 10 or 15 minutes. It was removed of course. Fortunately I didn't buy it, because it was amazingly expensive (looked it up), came with the bike, and yes bang on 3 years pretty much. 😡

Motorcycle alarms absolutely the work of the devil, utter waste of time.

Absolutely agree. The first thing I do with any bike I buy is rip the alarm system out. They're about as much use as tits on a chicken.

James what did you do to the Alarm ? Remove it completly. Join the 4 wires you jumped out leaving the rest of the Alarm loom in place or replace the complete Alarm ? Had an R6 last week wearing a 357 v2 that refused to pin out and start, So i took the plunge and removed it which resulted in a runner but my pinout diagram must be wrong as i to went 1&2 3&4. You need a shave by the way lol

There's a greater than zero chance you could fix the alarm if it's possible to get it open. Often a bad capacitor or resistor shows itself physically.

I believe the alarm had lost its ignition supply as it should not of re-armed itself while the ignition was still switched on.

Why did you not check the power and grounds to the alarm? Regards Chris
