Try telling them that you wanna go to a meet up and they ask to see what the meet up is called, and they see that it's a therian meet up. Teel them that there is a different meet up going on near them and the people who managed the group decided to just label it as a therian meet up and maybe they'll be convinced and let you go?

My parents found out and didn’t like it. I don’t know why they didn’t like it and as far as I could see, they didn’t have a reason so they made a reason up. “That’s not what a spiritual connection is supposed to be.” Ok then . Coming from the person who has never had a spiritual connection to anythting. Now I’m a secret therian and it totally sucks, have to wait until the middle of the night or crack of dawn to do any therian activity (meditation, mental shifting, etc)

I’m a father of 2. A boy and a girl. I stumbled upon these videos from a cringe compilation and when it got to the wolf pack segment I got interested. Not AS a therian/otherkin but as a father of 2. My father would’ve beat the therian right out of me if I chose to be this way. I’m watching these as a way to open my mind to things my children might get into some day. I don’t think it’s wrong. St.MichaelDefendUsInBattle I’m really glad to hear your openmindedness. I personally know of an adult therian (35 yrs old) with two young kids, one of his children is started to find interest in therians too. He, the father, however has hided his therian side from his kids to prevent influencing them too much. He is okay with any way his daughter will turn out to be, but he worries about the parents who have high strict standards for their kids. He wonders how his daughter would have lived in another family basicly. It probably wouldn’t have turned out nice. Many children who are therians and grow up, remain therians at heart but can also have extremely succesful lifes. I know of a therian who owns one of the biggest economical bussineses in america, one who works for disney, one who is in a succesful band, plenty of psychologists and biologists, plenty of zoo workers and involved in animal shelters. People often think that therians are so weird, they must be disfunctional. But the truth is far from, as we grow up we sell you your bread, treat your sick mother and find the remedy against cancer so to speak. So I’m glad you allow your kids to be whoever they are or want to be. Overtime, they’ll be alright. Especially with a supportive parent

PD thanks PD. I don’t believe in messing with my children’s happiness just because of what they’re in to. I was into some “weird” things as a younger man and still am to this day. It’s not “weird” just because it’s not the “norm”. I don’t like using the term “weird” anyways. I’m glad I found these videos because I pride myself on having an open mind and I enjoy knowing about these types of things and being able to speak about them. Especially if my children start barking or whimpering someday 😆 I’ll know how to explain to them what they might be.

As a therian who's been amongst a community for almost 20 years, I'll say first off that I admire your approach. And a red flag to watch for; as I'm sure you already know, there's potential for "bad apples" in any group. A "pack" as a group of friends is great, but occasionally someone will try to take advantage of that. If you hear of any sort of power structure going on, or regular pack dues, or someone being a gatekeeper for secrets, that's almost certainly not okay and is something to investigate. Again, this isn't something I'd say is common, just a red flag to be wary of (that you probably already would be wary of, but it doesn't hurt to say it).

I wore my tail in a grocery store once. I got a couple looks and felt the urge to hide it. I’ve found that I’m less shy about my tail in open nature spaces. Maybe try going to a spacious park where everyone is spaced out and distances from each other. Tha worked for me

Well I guess they have phantom shifts like the Wings, paws and things ont he head etc? I'm not exacly sure. It's the same for each theriotype really.. They're like that animal, in mindset, in phantom shifts etc. Usually you figure out what you are by writing down experiences and comparing them to the animal. I guess insects usually feel really small too.

A pack as a group of friends is wonderful. But in your searching, if you find a "pack" that has some sort of rigid power structure, or requires fees, or withholds secrets of some sort for loyal members or whatever, stay away from them. Just like with any category of people, there's always potential for a few individuals to try to take advantage of people, and there has been a problem of people doing that in the past. Not frequent, but something to watch for.

If you're from Belgium or The Netherlands you can join our local community (with 75+ membes atm, a location map, big groupschat and the bi-monthly meetups) We keep our members updated of upcoming meet-ups. We got two upcoming ones by the end of octobre. (first one is in Belgium likely, second one may be the Netherlands)

@@ragelnyg4895 as long as we are aware that someone is attending, they're surely welcome. Sadly as non-Belgian or non-Dutch you wouldn't be allowed into the local community. And we don't have public websites to announce meets on to prevent weird and dangerous people to attend to bully us etc. I got several contact methods but my instagram @pd_pink_dolphin and telegram @cybertherianpd are the most used medias on which I respond the fastest. So you can Always contact me if u're in BE or NL. and I can TRY to remember to text you, sadly about 100 people ask me to keep them updated and I have memory loss and usually I Always forget. Just checking every few months can help. Our current upcoming meet likely gets hold on 5,6,12 or 13 octobre. around kapellen in Belgium. we got an Halloween meet 31 octobre. Likely in the Netherlands but not decided on place yet..

if you are from opinion that people doing cosplay, fursuiting, costume work, mascot jobs, building trains or lego cities, .. are also grown ups that never grew up. maybe. but I define a grown up person as someone who can make decisions rationally, who is responsible, who has a stabile life such as partner, house and job. seen I fit all those quoteria. a job, appartment, long term relationship, university,.. I'd say I'm a grown up no matter how I choose to spend my free time (which is once per 2 months really, I'm that dude sitting next to you or the one who you buy your bread from every monday ;) you wouldn't even know they're a therian)
