@Shemratov
@Shemratov 8 жыл бұрын
+Cyrus The Great They did lose, but the 1973 war was still considered as an achievement since for the first time, the Israeli air force was useless and vulnerable and the Arabic forces managed to push back and capture a big chunk of Israeli land, especially in the Golan heights and the Sinai peninsula. Even though we won the war, it's still looked as a very dark period in the history of Israel. Fortunately, this war was the main reason for the peace talks between us and Egypt, so there's that.
@jedaaa

+SirGoodName can i ask a question, you mentioned that it was a very dark period in the history of Isreal, because you lost territory ? or another reason ?
@Shemratov
@Shemratov 8 жыл бұрын
jedaaa It was a dark period because this war caught us off guard, the Arab nations attacked us when we we're busy being euphoric and arrogant. The Syrian advance stopped too soon, but if they kept going, this war could have destroyed us. Since then, the population of Israel started to distrust the government and the army.

Died quietly,,, with the biggest funeral in history ever ever. I mean Nasser, like 5 million people mourned his death at once omg "he died.... quietly" 4:50 "As the coffin crossed Qasr El-Nil bridge soldiers were simply overwhelmed by a mass of communal sorrow as men and women, wailing their loss, swarmed around the entourage. In a surge of spontaneity hysterical mourners attempted to bear their beloved leader's coffin themselves. Soldiers used rifle butts and batons to repel the crowd in the ensuing pandemonium. The march was abandoned and the coffin transferred to a military vehicle. Authorities drove the coffin in haste to its final resting place at Manshiet-el-Bakry mosque, now to be known as Gamal Abdel Nasser mosque, and completed the burial ceremony three hours ahead of schedule. Estimates put the number of mourners lining the funeral route at five million. Many more congregated in major cities across Egypt and the Arab world. While the majority of casualties in Cairo were caused by overcrowding, other cities in the Middle East witnessed more unusual fatalities. Stray small arms fire is reported to have killed and wounded a number of people in Beirut. The discharging of weapons into the air is a common mark of respect in the region for dead heroes and leaders. " ^^^^^BBC THis is a cool video though !

@alec52MINNESOTA I absolutely agree. It would be a shame indeed, for any state to combine religion with politics and law, whatever the form. The Brotherhood has its charismatic leaders, sure, and some will certainly win in the upcoming elections, but enough to make a difference -- I don't know. As it stands, Egypt's future seems to be in the hands of both loudest and the most secretive. The 'silent majority' is largely unheard, and their interests will only be served after serious reformation.

1952 revolution was organised by Nasser, who appointed Naguib as president because Nasser himself was too young. Naguib never actually ruled Egypt even when he was president. Nasser was the true brain and dynamo of the revolution and is still considered to have been in his life the most popular Arab leader ever.

First, don't compare Mubarak to Nasser. Nasser was truly loved not just by Egyptians but millions of Arabs, and his followers or those who share his vision are called "Nasseri"s. Second, the reason why the muslim brotherhood is considered outlawed, it's because it was British made (Just like Taliban and Al-Qaeda are american made, and Isis is western-arab gulf-zionist package made). The British needed them as a religious nuts power to help sustain control over the Suez canal. Don't forget that the British colonized (yes colonized) Egypt for so long, so they had a big infiltration to the Azhar (the Islamic scholarly university), and were the direct reason of creating wahhabism with weaponizing Abdul Wahhab to take over Arabia and to weaken the turks using Islam (just like ISIS now) as a facade. Anyway... This whole masquerade of "arab spring" is not a new one, the first one was the wahhabi fundamentalists that used pan-arabism to fight turks, and extreme religiousness to fight those that are Muslims who opposed them, and the result was creating a western puppet state called Saudi Arabia (and their neighbors). This second arab spring was to ensure few things: extending the chaos, creating civil conflicts, changing the regimes (and if successful, by extremists to ensure an excuse for future invasions), and the most two important goals: weaken Egypt, and reach Syria. For those who don't know, Syria is one of the few countries that has no debt to the world bank, and has no Rothschild banking in control inside, no western influence, and a strong military and ties with Iran, Russia , and the Lebanese resistance. All that are pain in the ass to Israel and the west. The other thing that rare people noticed, is that these things such as revolutions and such, are orchestrated to bring the entire country into a debt that makes sure to enslave the entire country and nation to the Elite. The very first thing that the new president Sisi did was to take a huge loan and drown Egypt in debt. Many people would disagree with me, but the future will come and reveal lots of secrets to be revealed. I'm Lebanese and I have witnessed enough. I'm not an anti-western dude, but I'm an anti-elite. We are all enslaved by the same 1%. Cheers.

Hey brother, I'm Lebanese. I want to tell you that we have atheist Lebanese and there are many atheist Egyptians. Unlike the media shows you, Egypt and Lebanon are not completely Muslim countries (so are many Arab countries). They have Christians from different sects, socialists and communists, atheists, various minority religions, etc... It is very safe for you to visit Egypt. Don't engage in politics or other sensitive issues unless with newly met friends or open minded people. I think you'll enjoy your time there. Don't be scared of the stereotypes.

Dude, you can have whatever believes you have. I'm not an expert on Egypt, but I'm Lebanese and a Muslim, and I know that lots of people in the west have the wrong idea about people here. We have all kind of believes and cultures. Plus no one gives a concern about what tourists believe in or not. Just my advice, that there are many types of people like any place, don't engage in religious talks with those that are nuckleheads or rigid. That's it.

Nicely made, historically not overly off track. Just such a pity that Americans are incapable of pronouncing foreign names, which makes this sound like a truly weird video. I will forgive Mohamed Ali with the emphasis on the last "i", just the wrong way round. How on earth can you pronounce Naguib ( with a soft "g" like in golf) and say instead Nagwuib? Does America have no schools ? Similarly, Mubarak's contender in 2005 Ayman Nour is not AAAmen Naaauuer, but Ai (like when you hit your thumb) -men Nour which you say like boer as in S Africa.

Orrrrrr They realized it better to stop the war since USSR was going to get in and USA was going to get in and we woukd be looking in to WW3 or WW1 (middle east edition) plus both nations realized it better to have peace and develop instead of comstantly fightning they did the right thing stop the war and both nations developerld (Israel developed more due to less traitor in its goverment) but the that foesn't change the fact that they did the right thing to call for peace and maintain it for so long. (Coming from an Egyptian teen) Quick advicd: When comig to judge a matter like that maybe hear some stuff from both sides and learn the full story as well as look in to the section.
