@@criticworld874 Lol. I have never observed anything quite like this before. Any human being in the world can simply book a flight to North Africa and observe that it is inhabited by Berber people (Pale skinned with dark hair and directly descended from Arabs who migrated from the Middle East), and yet, here you are, saying these funny things and believing them. Black Americans are the only group of people who are dumb enough to completely deny observable, visual proof of something. Your self esteem as a race is so low because of slavery that you resort to shutting out reality completely.

And while you are at it, also go ahead and explain to us ignorant non-black folk why all of the blacks of North Africa suddenly dissapeared after this supposed great event happened. Were all of the blacks rounded up and murdered? Their capital was MARRAKESH--MOROCCO. MORE INTERESTING!!! 13:27 Morocco had never been under the Ottomans' control. REALLY INTERESTING!!! 💌
@anteversus84714 жыл бұрын
The Almoravids were very dark-brown Mauritanian-Senegalese, physically different from the Berbers who lived north of the Sahara to the Mediterranean. They were not Moroccans, they were another population. The Almohads were partly current Algerians from the Koumya tribe and partly current Moroccans from the Masmouda tribe of the High Atlas. Their Caliph Abdelmoumen and his entire Koumya tribe was located in Nedroma in Algeria before moving entirely to Marrakech founded by the Mauritanian Almoravids. In addition the Caliph Abdelmoumen founder of the dynasty, the conqueror and conqueror over the Almoravids had brought 30,000 Hillalian Arab warriors from Algeria. Moroccans are far from playing the main roles among the Almohads. Morocco had its sultans appointed by the Ottomans, had a sultan killed by the Ottomans, had cities taken and dictated its policies by the Ottomans. The Ottomans beat them several times and withdrew on their own, not following an armed defeat.fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflits_maroco-ottomans Wikipedia is just an introduction to the subject, we can go deeper into the matter elsewhere.

Kinda wish you talked about the great berber revolt more, but nice video regardless thank you for talking about the Amazighs
@Omegaeon15 жыл бұрын
It was a kharijire revolt not as some berber nationalists claim ( I’m amazigh myself ) because after this there were the idrissids their ruler is arab from family of the prophet. The Rostamids their ruler is persian. And aghlabids who are arabs..berber revolt was manly due to Umayyad harsh treatment.

There is an ancient Tunisian invocation of the rain that I’ve learned from my mother which is called “Ommek Tangou” or “Mother Tangou”. Tangou is another name of Tanit, the Carthaginian goddess of fertility. “Ommek tangou ya nse, d’aat rabi ‘al shte” (Mother tangou, O women, asked God to rain)

@@anteversus8471 huh. Where did you get your information from? The Moroccan dynasties are well known from 750 AD up to today. There were internal wars between the different factions and later on with the Turks, the spaniards and the french. The Portuguese were successful at taking over a couple of cities such as Essaouira for a very short period of time (1505 - 1520) and they were kicked out. Neither the portuguese, the spaniards, the Turks or the french were ever successful at colonizing Morocco.

Nice video! Greetings from Egypt! Edit: one quick thing, the khedivate of Mohammed Ali was almost fully independent and almost ended the ottoman empire, after it had gotten defeated by a coalition by literally most if not all of the European superpowers at the time, ottoman rule on Egypt from now on was only a nominal title, i think it was a very important event in north African history Edit 2: 14:13, honestly, you should've said "democracy" in a ton of quotation marks. Trust me, it is nothing near a democracy, but it is none other than a corrupt, authoritarian dictatorship

I'm tunisian and i wish we were taught history this way at school (overview instead of fragmented overly detailed periods) . But i guess history is meant to be revisited when we are older and when we have a wider awarness of the world and its politics.. It's ironic how in great scheme of things we are, as a region, overlooked by the world powers dispite being their first targets for conquests, colonization, indebtures etc we seem irrelevent to humanity's progress nowadays dispite being its fuel for what it seems to be all of times. It s also worth mebtionning how little we know, us north africains, of the history of the subsaharian Africa. I know they had their own great kingdoms before the fall but we don't even study those at school
