I'm curious if full lessons are something you're interested in seeing more. I share LOTS of read aloud content in my regular weekly vlogs, but not usually an entire lesson. This was an interesting one to share...not my favorite lesson, but hopefully there's a couple take aways. This was our third read through on this book, so less of a focus on surface level comprehension, and more of a focus on understanding the story more using what we know, background knowledge, character traits, etc. I reflected throughout the video, gave some explanations, and also some general insight as I watched back the video with you. I know the kids are a bit hard to hear at times because I'm using a microphone on my shirt and not my camera microphone - sorry about that! Would LOVE your feedback below, and also let me know - do your kids do *hilarious* things when other people are in the room, too? I was dying at cinnamon rolls.

I found the lesson very interactive. I use your double clapping in my classroom and works really well. I like how you make them stand up and find new partners for each discussion. There are many more takeaways from your lesson: your teacher toolkit is extensive. Also, I’d like to add that it’s tricky to be observed on questioning only when you were teaching and doing so many things during the lesson.

Yes!! Loved this full lesson and talk through! I’m currently working on my education degree so it is really helpful to see these kinds of videos.

Hello! I was just wondering if you plan to continue making videos for your channel? It seems like it’s been a while since you put one out. I really enjoy your videos! 😊

To answer your question: I enjoy watching both types of videos. The stand alone deep dive into a certain skill or the weekly building the skills. Happy Thanksgiving!

Those who find your choices offensive are the ones being selfish. The problem isn't you. The problem is their need for control.

Really enjoy your videos! Your energy is amazing. Just a note about the story…I know you have been doing research with your kiddos about Koalas and talked about the setting being in Australia, but did you know that Australia is one of the few places in the world that doesn’t actually have woodpeckers? Maybe you could share that fact with you class. Also, if you want a beautiful (Australian) picture book with a central Koala character I highly recommend Koala Lou by Mem Fox! (Yes I’m an Aussie primary schoolteacher, lol). Keep up the amazing work that you do. You are an inspiration.

Mayleen, Good call on encouraging your students because the time(s) when they need that boost and sweetening up the most is when they are made to do something that they may not have interest in or that does not taste that well to them right off. I like how you reward those who are engaged in your lessons because that could be the sweetening that they need to see the good in what you are doing with them or in having them do. Also, have you ever thought about doing a teacher outfit video? I bet that even Marie Osmond is probably taking some fashion advice from you. - Dwight
