Another great job done and ticked off of the list. That fire extinguisher port is a fantastic idea. I've seen serious damage done from engine fires, as soon as you open the cover you let in oxygen and it makes the fire burn more fiercely. I may be wrong, it isn't that clear in the video but I think that you've made a big mistake having the port in such an inaccessible place, if it had to go undert seat I'd have put it right in the front. It would also be much nearer the centre of a potential fire. In an emergency seconds are vital, hopefully you'll never have to use it. Looks like you'll be off soon then, happy days ahead.

Cheers 👍. yes the extinguisher ports are a great idea. We put the port under the seat area because it doesn't sit flush with the floor so becomes a trip hazard and a very annoying thing to always stand on while we are driving. Also the rubber seal can easily split when walked on so needs to be in a more protected area. There is plenty of room under the bench to put the extinguisher into the port. We keep our compost boxes under there and would only take a second to pull them out of the way in an emergency. Yes we have been cruising for a while now and we are having a great time so far 👍

Just wanted to say your both great, I've just brought a boat and will start working on her next week. Wish I was as good as you, but have learned so much. My boat is a 1962 springer with original engine, it purrs like a kitten. I hope to do half as good as you.

Cheers Robert. Take it one step at a time and don't think too far ahead. Try to remember that things you do now can impact on things a lot further into the build. We've learnt so much doing the build and have done a lot of stuff we've never tried before. Give it a go and you'll be fine. Good luck with your build. 👍

Great job I like that Plywood but I would imagine its hard to source and expensive. Are you both enjoying living on the boat now its almost finished and are you coping well with the space challenges?
@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg8 ай бұрын
Cheers 👍 Yes this type of ply is great for the outside areas if you seal the cut edges well. Hopefully should last a while. Yes we are loving cruising now. For us coming from living in a van, camper trailer, Tent and back packing for 8 years before starting building the boat and then living on the boat while building it, we now feel we have so much space. Most of our storage space is still empty and everywhere just feels tidy and organised. It feels really spacious and yet very cosy. We are loving it 👍
