Yes, Small Space Creation is a great channel! I was also very impressed with the diy bench dogs idea. I went straight to Toolstation for the the 3m length of 20mm conduit with 20 couplings, and then Ebay for the 16mm dowel in 1m lengths. I've already knocked up a wee bundle, and I can honestly say, it has to be the cheapest and easiest way to go about it! Top marks to Mark👍👍👍

Great as always Keith , one thing I would recommend is to fit the smaller window beads first, especially on smaller windows as they can’t bend normally. The longer ones you can bend one corner in and then the other core we as smash away 👍

No foam around the windows? Some instastik would make them solid and stop draft/noise. Also the direct torx fixings don't need plugs, if they're going into thermalite use a 5mm SDS and 6.5mm for accrington brick
@ecuadorianme
@ecuadorianme 3 жыл бұрын
I used a similar braided tube. You should consider using hear shrink to fix it to the hose and make the end neat in stead of tape. I bought 50mm heat shrink and it worked perfectly for a standard 35mm hose. Just heat it with your heat gun.

Keith, as always a really informative video. You continue to go from strength to strength. If you want to save some time on keeping your patio área clean and free from lichen etc in the future have a look at a product called 'Wet & Forget'. I started using it a few years ago and all of my garden's hard surface now stay clean with minimal maintenance. This will then leave you with more time to make even more content LOL.

I'm not sure it would be a fair comparison seeing as I now use a different phone, with a different microphone and a different app too, and not sure where I was standing when I measured it either. The windows have definitely cut out a lot of noise though

Forgive me if I have multiple comments, as I am compelled to write as I watch. You original windows were already pretty small, but now the opening is nearly half as much. Were you un willing or unable to get bigger windows? How's air flow when you want a breeze?
@RagnBoneBrown
@RagnBoneBrown 3 жыл бұрын
The less windows the better when you're shooting video. Natural light is a pain to deal with as it affects white balance and exposure. Air flow is pretty good, they also have a lock position where the window is slightly open (a bit like a trickle vent)
@neilf4128

why are pvc frames so chunky? You end up losing a lot of glass area to solid plastic compared to wooden frames

The less natural light the better when you're shooting video as it impacts white balance and exposure. I'd rather have PVC and not have to maintain them every couple of years.
