I am 2-3 weeks away from submitting my corrected thesis, and your videos are brilliant! I take notes during each video. They should be required viewing for PhD students!

Dear Professor Brabazon. Thank you for this vlog. I think one of the reasons why students write short conclusions is because they hide the study limitations and pretend the study was a smooth sail. I think it's very important that the limitations of the study are brought to light as it helps examiners understand why a student made some decisions.

I love the fact that you mentioned voice recording the answer to the question! I did that very technique this afternoon and it was the most helpful. I am writing my conclusion and recommendation section of my Master's thesis, and although you speak mostly about PhDs, I have been able to think more deeply about my topic and I feel it's helped my research. Thank you for posting these videos! It found me all the way in the US!

Thankyou Tara. The 10 points are helpful across so many types of reports prepared in an organisational context to help focus the writer, and the audience e.g executives, committees, colleagues etc about why to commit to a particular course of action. So enjoy these blogs.

Thanks so much for this Tara! I just finished my conclusion and was unhappy with it but unsure how to fix it. This vlog has given me confidence in the bits I've done right and given me an idea of what I was missing - thank you!!

Thank you so much for all these vlogs - it's profoundly helpful! I was wondering - in case you're moving to two word videos ;) - if you would perhaps consider making a video on convergence/divergence? I'd like to believe that I have not many difficulties with divergent thinking: the process of association seems to come pretty natural - creating an ever-expanding mind map. My challenge, however, is with convergent thinking whereby all information needs to be brought together into a coherent narrative. Let’s say I’m writing a part on “metaphors.” What I tend to do is write down my brainstorm and the direction that I have in mind. However, being a novice my knowledge has its limits so what I do next is: I visit the Plato Stanford encyclopedia online, for an excellent general introduction on the specific concept, which is great, and it also introduces me to other related concepts, which is also great, however: I’m having a difficult time drawing the boundaries around what to include/exclude, when everything seems to be relevant and related (especially from a post disciplinary point of view) - e.g. semantics, rhetoric, argumentation, consciousness, cognition, imagination, analogy etc etc. And each of these concepts opens up an entire world of associations and discourse on its own (spanning centuries). My question is how to acknowledge and engage with these discussions (high theory) while simultaneously not coming across as non-focused or superficial? What is a good heuristic for the inclusion/exclusion of information? And what is the process for convergence?
