Maybe my eyes are getting weak, but it's quite difficult for me to read white letters in front of bright backgrounds. For example, at 6:06 min it is really easy to read the script, because it is written on top of the red background, while it gets difficult again at 6:28 min, when the background switches back to white. I guess it would be easier to read, if you could constantly add slightly dark background to your texts. And thank you very much for the N3 Quizlet quiz. :)

I've a native English speaker, but started studying Korean around May of 2021 and Thai around July 2021. I'm still considered a beginner in both languages, but I'm making progress. I can read and write in both languages at a basic level (identifying tones in written Thai will be the death of me, lmao 🤣). I have iTalki tutors that I meet with once every 1-2 weeks and then A LOT of self-studying in between tutoring lessons. Hoping to get to TOPIK 1 level this year with Korean. Not sure where I want to get to with Thai yet. I'm making more progress with Thai, but Tone Rules for written Thai is currently kick my butt, lol.

Really enjoy your videos Jazmine. They help keep me motivated! I find your videos have helped me focus on developing a realistic study plan that keeps me progressing with learning the Japanese language. Thank you for the tips/references. I also like the musical artists you mention in this video. My favourite artist in Japan is Hyde (of L’Arc en Ciel) and Taemin of Korea (but I’m always up for some GDragon). Keep up the great work, there is doubt you are going to be very successful in whatever your chosen occupation will be.

@wittyusernamesareacryforva47483 жыл бұрын
Japanese Ammo with Misa's 'beginner' playlist, the 'Japanese from Zero' playlist, the 'N5 video game grammar' youtube video which teaches and gives examples of all N5 grammar in context, the Genki/ Minna no Nihongo books, the Nihongo Sou Matome books, and Wanikani and 'Kanji Look and Learn' 'Remembering the Kanji' and free N5 specific free printable worksheets for kanji are all on my radar for when I have the time to learn properly. I believe JapanesePod 101 also has lots of free worksheets if you don't want to spend money on books. Best of luck sith your Japanese journey!

Hello people, I would like to ask something (specially for you, Jazmine, if you see this). Could anyone indicate me resources to study Asian history and literature? It's really hard to find resources (one of the reasons I study languages? haha), so it would be great if I could get any recommendations. It can be pretty much anything, books documentaries, papers, I would love to look for all of them. Thanks everybody!
@wittyusernamesareacryforva47483 жыл бұрын
I would really recommend 'The Book of Yokai' for an interesting introductory look at Japanese folklore, as well as looking into 'The Tale of Genji' and its historical context. If you look on youtube, you can find dozens of university lectures on history and mythology! I love this aspect of language learning too, and I'm really enjoying the little I've learned about Japan so far!
@wittyusernamesareacryforva47483 жыл бұрын
'Three Tigers, One Mountain' is a book about the history of the relationship between China, Korea and Japan which is next on my reading list, and for literature I've really enjoyed the English translations of some of Matsuo Basho's haiku poems, and for some recent Japanese fiction, 'Convenience Store Woman', 'Before the Coffee Gets Cold', 'How do You Live', 'The Travelling Cat Chronicles', and Banana Yoshimoto's short stories might interest you.
