You look just beautiful in that green leafy on white background. It is so bright and springy, cheerful. Those greens are good colors on you. Good to see you again, hope you're doing well.

I enjoy your reviews of patterns. So many others just talk about the changes they make to a pattern and seem timid in mentioning the down side of patterns, instructions and design. Your critiques are very helpful (and much more honest).
@thecamdenstitch5 жыл бұрын
Sage Preaumx oh good, I feel like I’m such a moanyface! But hey it’s not like I’m being mean is it, certain things in reviews are a matter of opinion whereas certain things are just fact ie ‘the instructions said XYZ’. If businesses never get any feedback from their customers they stagnate and we get a poorer product as a result. Hopefully constructive criticism can be taken in the right light 🙂👍🏼
@venacamack90435 жыл бұрын
yes totally agree with the comment about doing a honest critique with the down sides and the errors you make with the pattern especially what went wrong. that way other sewers learn from that x

Loved your review. It was extremely helpful. You look amazing in your version. Stunning!! I have the pattern and instructions but plan on sewing this dress following Mimi G’s sew along. I too find the odd instructions lacking. I sewed her Annie cardigan using the sew along and everything came out perfect. I had to make notes on the pdf instructions.

You look great Jay obviously ready to hack it in the jungle! The fit looks really good you should be pleased with yourself. I sew when I can but like you (I have rheumatoid arthritis and other probs.) health varies day to day. Have been brave and signed up to a refresher sewing course at Mary Ward so hoping to make as many classes as I can. Love the channel as always.

Thanks so much! I’ve heard good things about Mary Ward - hopefully it gets your sewjo back up and running but it’s no picnic when you’re battling with pain. Take good care of yourself. xx

Great make, and super fabric. It certainly looks as if you could hack the bodice onto different skirts. I have had problems with Mimi Gee sewalongs, in that they are so rushed that they seem to make a fairly simple sew, look more difficult than it is. Anyway, yours really turned out well, and really suits you, a perfect summer dress.

You look wonderful in the dress. I made it in a viscose challis and found it too thin for the style. I put in a lot of effort and ended up donating it to charity. However I LOVE her coulotte pattern and have made 5 pair !! Simplicity 8558. It fit perfectly and I didn't bother with the waist ties. It would be perfect as a bottom piece for the Jessica bodice. Let me know if it suits you.

The Camden Stitch I was born in Scotland and we moved to Manchester when I was 3. My first hubby and I emigrated to Ontario Canada I 1974. My second hubby of 21 years retired 3 years ago and I'm loving it. Now I have time to watch all the great videos you and your fellow vloggers put out. My accent is still very Salfordian. I sound like I just arrived here. Love your videos have a fabulous weekend 💕❤️💕

Loving your dress, the leaf print is fab! I'm so with you on the stay stitching, it's very annoying when a pattern doesn't tell you do to it. Or it will say to stay stitch after you've done a few things with the pattern piece, and it's had plenty of time to stretch!! Personally, if I think something needs stay stitched, then it gets done the second the pins have come out... Lynne
@thecamdenstitch5 жыл бұрын
Lynne -OzzyBlackbeard Yes! Needs to be stay stitched before you even look at it!

Looks gorgeous on you! I have the pattern picked it up when it was freebies) but haven't made it yet. I think I'm opposite to yo..wary about tops with no sleeves / skinny straps as I have reached that certain age when paranoia develops about my upper arms.

Ooh it's gorgeous!!! I've had it printed for ages and I'm hoping I can now use my FBA skills on it! Is the sew along worth using at all, or just stick to the instructions? Xx
@thecamdenstitch5 жыл бұрын
AGirlSewGeeky I think use one or the other, because the order of construction is different...it’s a lovely pattern though!
@Darwe3233 жыл бұрын
I'm actually mad at myself, because I didn't sew a trial version and I cutted a beautiful fabric. I wanted to make only the top to use it as a crop top and now I need to think how to reuse it, because the top doesn't fit me at all...I didn't think about the topstitching and some parts are loose (armpits) while some are actually too tight. I might try sewing it once more but for now the instructions were too unclear for me. :(
