Thanks for this nostalgic trek back to a regular camping spot from my childhood. In the 60's, before they created the easy access parking area, it was just open desert. My family would set up camp just about where your opening segment was shot, in front of the distinctive formation behind you that I called "the big cupcake." I must have climbed around that a hundred times. I still remember one trip when it was so hot we all spent an afternoon inside an oppressively hot tent rather than bake in the even hotter direct sun. We still stop there to stretch our legs when driving to LA from where I now live near Lake Tahoe. Great memories!

Thank you so much for sharing! What fun memories :) Anytime we're taking a road trip along the 14 to the 395, we almost always stop off here to stretch our legs and soak in the incredible rock formations.

Thanks for your information and post about Red Rock Canyon State Park. My wife and I lived in Mojave back in the late 70's and early 80's. Enjoyed the desert.

Can you share the exact spot of the cover of this video? It looks beautiful!

This spot is located right by the Hagan Canyon Nature Trail inside the park (it’s less than a 5 minute walk from the trail parking area). I hope that helps.☺️

Thousands of people drive by this area every day on Highway 14, yet only a small handful bother to stop and check it out. What a mistake!!

OldSchoolNoe I totally agree with you...I feel so blessed that I only live 2 hours away so I can go and enjoy this spot under the starry night sky and after rare winter storms 😊

To be one of the few who ever lived that could compete with Kobe and Jordan is pretty good dude. Congrats on the effort.

This is awesome! I live in Fresno and want to visit. Is this part of the Mojave? Any snakes?
@flyingdawnmarie3 жыл бұрын
Red Rock State Park is located just north of the small town of Mojave (it's not located inside Mojave National Preserve). There are definitely snakes and lizards here.
