They are great old school subs. I had them in my 1987 Pontiac Sunbird Convertible in 1998. I put a punch 200(The gray with gold caps) on each one of them and with a convertible i was hitting 141.3 decibles(Which was astounding back then). I had those subwoofers for over 20 years,hell i think i might still have one in the basement lol. Lots of good memories. But as soon as the square L7s came out i switched & have been rocking those ever since. I haven't found a sub that sounds better in my opinion. Punch amp and kicker subs have always sounded best to me & everyone that gets in my cars and is impressed by my systems. You should probably find at least a cheap Taramps & put it on those subs so that you don't blow those classics by underpowering them. Make sure your oms are correct.

them subs are the solobraic subs they are the iso model and they use a smaller then nomal sealed box but putting them in a band pass will be louder then a ported box mainly becuase these subs where desinged for a smaller enclouser

Yeah, I didn't realize that. My brain went to some old numbers from back in the day where it was like 3 cubic feet or something insane. Now I understand why these were so revolutionary.

@@TheHungryMechanic the stnader size for a sealed box is .8-1cbft and ported is 1.25-2.5

@@TheHungryMechanic even then 3 cbft is large for a ported box back in the day the normal size ported box for subs where 1.5 cbft nowa days subs want between 2-3 cbft for one sub depending dont get me worng budget subs still use 1-2cbft boxes ported and honestly they outprofrom these old schools subs

Use 0.88cfu sealed and 2cfu ported bandpass box and make each sub a box so they dont interact with eachother also invert them so the motors are in ported chambers for better cooling u can add sensors as well to tell u the temperature of each sub coil so u dont accidentaly overheat them btw i have s10d and s10a single s10a in bandpass 0.66cfu and1.5cfu ported sounds stupid loud and low some think its even a 12 or dual 10
@fxgamer-11ytАй бұрын
dont mess with sound effect you will add clipping into the single which will kill the subwoofer

sealed box it would fit alot better and would sound a bit better bc if u used ported boxes it would rattle the truck of your car

“Baric” • Derived from the term “isobaric,” a design concept where two drivers are paired to enhance efficiency in small enclosures. • Kicker’s Solo-Baric was designed to achieve similar performance to isobaric systems but with a single subwoofer. This made the design simpler and more space-efficient without compromising output.

So then these truck boxes may actually be sufficient for air space which makes me wonder if a bandpass would actually be too much. Hmm, now I wonder if they make solo-baric bandpass boxes which are smaller than the norm. I'm going to have to look that up now lol.

@@TheHungryMechanic yes but they will be louder in a biger box or band pass box also face them to the back its allways louder sound waves are louder with reflections

I prefer porter if if put those subs u got in a double 1.25 cubic ft ported box they'll slam

I'll look into that. I need to pull one out and see what the numbers on the back are I think. I keep seeing there are like s12c and s12d. May not even matter for airspace but I am just curious now.
