I'm having my first fight in a month, and I'm experiencing this nervousness and insecurity. To an extent, my rational side knows it is normal to feel this way and it happens to all types of fighters, if not all fighters in general. With that said, it still sucks and it's impossible to turn it off on command. That's why I came to your channel, because I knew if there was someone that could make me calm down a little, that person would be you, Sylvie. I love the way you handle your emotions and how you view them, so thanks for sharing this with us. I'm really glad I found your channel those years back, your videos are great and you are one of my greatest inspirations. Stay well!

It’d be concerning if one weren’t somewhat nervous before a fight. That degree of pseudo-confidence can kill your performance and your self-efficacy if unchecked. Acknowledge that you are not your negative, intrusive thoughts. Search for what is searching and find nothing there. Delve into self-compassion. Bless you Sylvie! Your journey is continuously inspiring.

How about fear of injury? Losing a fight is nothing in the big picture. But you can even win a fight and get seriously injured. The brain is not meant to be knocked around. The eyes. The vital organs not protected by ribs. How do you deal with that?

Fear is fear. Being afraid of physical injury is not dealt with in a significantly different manner than fear of being embarrassed or emotional risk. How one prepares for it matters, but dealing with the fear of dogs is not a separate question from dealing with a fear of cats, so to speak.

COMMENT: Thai herbs are great to counter the "stressed" aspect of nerves, for a more buddha state of health, as bliss; nerves seems the human aspect of biology, and the matter an aspect of cultural philosophical representation, as you describe, and experience.......try it, go figure.
