I often watch your videos to get motivated because you seem like an amazing teacher. However, I’d been struggling with behaviors from the very first week of school, so I’m genuinely grateful you decided to include how you deal with behaviors. I’ve seen one other video of your class management (and implemented some ideas), but I was starting to become demoralized because of certain kids who wouldn’t listen or follow any directions. 25:30 Once again, I’m so thankful for this particular vlog because I can now see there’s opportunity for me to improve and help my kids help me.

What did he mean about relationship building? What’s wrong with them getting a stem bin when some kids are still working on things and there’s only a few minutes left?

Oh it wasn't bad!!!! They have just been pushing us this year in our district to have standards posted on the board with learning criteria and I had my kids working on stem bins with nothing up so it made me chuckle a little

Mayleen, I am wondering right now who is it that is having you rush into curriculum and routines so quickly? Also, one thing you must teach on at least the next to 1st day of school is classroom management and how your behavior management systems work. Anyhow, I like seeing more of you managing behaviors because those are the things that bring out of me things that I am usually scarred and afraid to open up about from when I was a school student. School is going to be school and that's just how it is and thank you for showing us what school is today and looking so beautiful doing it. - Dwight

I start school with kids the Wednesday after Labor Day and I am starting content the following Monday, and testing that second week as well. Administration tells you when you need to test such as iready or star.

@@djthereplay I teach 8th grade math and there is a LOT of content that I need to teach before the April state math tests. I need to start as early as possible. For diagnostic testing, they want a baseline before you start teaching to see what a student knows. Then they’ll do 2 more tests (mid-year and end-year) to see if the student made progress. When it comes to administration, it’s all about data, data, data and more data.

@@giezzel8909 Thank you for letting me in on that info because it helps me out learning directly from the teacher(s) what is happening. I wish that teachers at the very least had a little longer to train the students into routines, classroom behavior management systems, etc. because tests, or whatever the teacher tries to do mean nothing when the student(s) are not warmed up into the normal meet and grind (the systems and rules, etc.) I am a former autistic sped school student and one time, I was summoned and forced by my own mother to do a presentation about sped teaching to some college students trying to become sped teachers in My Former High School Teacher's College Class at the time and it scarred me because I was forced to do something that I wasn't prepared for and it was in a time where I did not have as much room to reject so basically I shared some happy experiences and demonstrated how I coped with life everyday , etc. because I did not know what worked for the teachers and all of a sudden I start up a special life season project for a very special occasion in my life is a success story and now that is in its' last days now and looking for ideas and all of a sudden I find teacher tubers and end up getting some understanding of what I went through when was a school student by learning about what the teachers go through and how things come about. Basically videos like this has become an answer to some whys of my past school life and now all of a sudden I have more of a speech than I did back then. So thank you all.
