Vlog 54 - Lexus GX470 Nashfab Ladder

It's been a minute since I've uploaded content, but very excited to showcase the install of this Nashfab curved ladder for the GX. This ladder was so easy to install and it goes to show how well thought out the design was by Nashfabco. I would recommend this ladder to anyone in the market as the curved design is a differentiator over others on the market and keeps the ladder functional with a rear tire carrier, which was a must for me.

JW Off-road makes shims for the barn door if you're concerned about the flex in the door.

Probabaly already know this but Bofn Racing makes a great little door bushing/catch to help PREVENT door sag. Much better solution than shims to compensate for sag...IMO. Rig is lookin' bad-A brohan!

Looking good, I have the JW off-road rear door tire carrier for over a year now with 33 spare on it, been off-roading a bunch with it , no issues at all, but i wonder if this ladder is will fit with a 33 spare on the back. any plans for rear pumper ? or maybe flush mount lights in the rear bumper? lover your videos.

Hey Johnny! Thanks for reaching out and giving an off-road update with the tire carrier! I think the curved ladder would allow a center mount 33” tire. I’d like to get one of JWs new swing out carrier. Yes, I have future plans for a tubes rear bumper for more clearance.

@@Awesomoto i do look forward to your videos, specially the front bumper. its on my list next, getting a winch is a must for me since i do wheeling alone sometimes. just keep in mind that you have to keep opening the tire carrier before opening the rear door, " i think" lol i had one of those hitch tire carrier and after a while i hated opening the rear door.

The Ladder looks really nice!!! It fits perfectly. Keep adding stuff to the GX. LOVE IT!!! One question for you did you just put off road rims and tires on your GX with the stock airbags or did you swap out for coils?

Thanks JN! I'm having a blast with the GX lately and planning to keep adding more off-road accessories like a lift and front bumper. Yes, I'm just running some aftermarket wheels with stock airbags. The stock suspension is actually quite capable! :)

@@Awesomoto another question does your GX deflate the air bags a bit back when you park

@@Djtoxxic1974 Yes, the leveling system lets the air out of the bags once the vehicle is turned off. You can hear the valve open after 10-20 seconds.

Nice! Can you please confirm your spoiler/wing is aftermarket and a bit of a different shape than the factory ones? It seems the top of the ladder is scraping the top of the spoiler/wing and will create an ugly groove and maybe even two holes/gashes over time. No clearance. Starting at 9:10. Your spoiler/wing just looks a bit different than mine. The web site looks like a full inch of clearance. Thanks!

Hey C.A. Nix! Good catch, yes this spoiler if not factory and slightly larger. There was slight rubbing at the top of the spoiler on the left side before adjusting. I had to move the top bracket about 0.25" to the driver side to get better clearance.

I’m still happy with it, but I’ll be honest and say that I don’t use it as much as I thought. I think that is a “for now” stance because as I continue to off-road and camp (maybe rooftop tent) I’ll be using it more.

What power line area do you drive in FL? PS - I know there is a company that makes door shims/reinforcement for the hinge side of the rear door.
