Dan, I think you should definitely return the dehumidifier. It is bound to fail in short order and the warranty will not be honored due to the physical damage. Just my 2 cents.

Generally when I charge large capacitors on inverters I would use a ceramic resistor to pre-charge. Looks really good.

I find that the few dollars Amazon discounts "USED" items is never really worth it. Mainly because they write USED on the receipt, which voids any manufacturers warranty. And many times at least in Canada, if it's only fulfilled by amazon they do not charge sales tax on new items, but the amazon "warehouse" used items have 13% tax applied. So often the used price is actually higher.

We had a similar humidity problem in our basement when we lived in Port Townsend. What I did was get a regular bucket-type dehumidifier and a Little Giant condensate sump pump. I drilled a hole in the bucket and put a small hose between the bucket and the sump pump as a siphon connection. That required adjusting the relative height of the two units to keep the siphon. So the dehumidifier would run, putting water in its bucket. That water would drain to the sump pump. When the pump reservoir filled, the pump would start and pump the water to the outside (to water plants). This worked fine for the 13 years we were there. I probably had to refill a broken siphon maybe two or three times over the years. Overall, I thought it worked very well.

what your calling a batt charger is a choke it lowers your idle current you likely have a good no load idle currant if you like this kind of stuff check out the genetry solar 6k low freq inverter it is so awesome it has wi fi along with every thing you could ever want for a cheap price

OK, dumb question. I keep waiting for you to say how you do an electrical ground in the bus when you are not attached to the grid? It seems to me the tires would prevent grounding to the ground. You don't seem worried about being zapped, so you must be grounded somehow.
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- 2 жыл бұрын
ground is a 'reference' back to the source of the power being generated. when the inverter is generating power, all of the grounds in 3 prong appliances are referenced back to the inverter's ground. ground doesn't always mean a physical stake into the dirt. aside from all of that - the power outlet 'ground pins' in most north american houses are just tied to neutral in the electrical panel anyways :^) the 3rd wire simply provides another path back to neutral, if wiring becomes faulty or cords get damaged etc

#TotallyNormal i think your better off making the battery's your going to learn thing which is always good and your going to save a lot of money to. im making mine out of 280 amp eve cells and when im done my 24v battery's im making 2 will have the capacity of just over 5 battleborn batteries for less then 2500$ per . im not bashing on BB at all but its a other and cheaper option

Does the battery charge feature work if it's not connected to solar power? If so, how? I honestly got one of these inverters off amazon for free as a reviewer and I have no clue what I'm doing to hook it up. I want to use it as a backup power source for my cabin. But all I have are the 48V batteries and this 6000w power inverter. Do I need to get solar panels too for It? And if I do get solar panels, they plug into the "IN AC" ports right?
@TotallyNormal-
@TotallyNormal- Жыл бұрын
there are no solar inputs on these inverters. the one i got just has an inverter with a built in battery charger and automatic transfer switch. if you want solar, that's totally separate from this unit. typically you'll want a solar charge controller and just connect that directly to the batteries. im using one of these - amzn.to/3yQofrc do some research online for how to setup a system like this - 48v DC can be pretty dangerous!

@@TotallyNormal- so the batteries that are powering the inverter can also be charged back up at the same time by the inverter? I'm trying to just figure out the benefits of using one of these in an RV without having to constantly charge the batteries. Without solar panels won't the batteries constantly need recharging? Or does the inverter recharge them as well? That's pretty much free energy right?

I been looking hard at the Ampinvt 12 volt model. Was wondering a year later have you had any problems with it. I been debating between this Sun Power Gold and the Renogy. Really like the features of the Ampinvt.

been working well! i've got the 24v one. i dont trust the battery charger in it though, and spent over a month trying to get documentation form them about the charging profiles! they just kept saying "its automatic" with no other details about bulk, absorption, or float voltages. but the transfer switch and the 120v output has worked for everything ive needed in the last 15 months! IMO low frequency inverters like this are THE way to go! (also DON'T use the cables it comes with they are WAY too small!) the 12V version will take MASSIVE battery cables to handle the amperage FYI
