U need to apply tick drops on the spine area. Dog will not get ticks for 2months atleast. Or u get a solution after giving bath u need mix suggested quality in water abd apply on body and allow to dry. Now doctor would have given internal medicine for ticks. Which is not good to give regularly. U can apply pure neem oil mix with little coconut oil and apply on body . Make the dog sleep in bathroom itself otherwise house with get spoilt. Leave for 30min and give him nice warm water bath. U ll see the ticks have reduced and the fur has improved also. When big ticks bite the fut in that place will fall. One small suggestion, u need to take care of ur pet well. Spend time atleast 10mins to check for ticks everyday. Keep a small container of kerosene or and oil while seeing ticks and put the ticks in that.

Ticks are a pest but no reason to give up on a dog… lots have already advised what to do - topical meds are good and daily checking will help to control. Maybe groom teddy more during summers and rains. Good luck.
