Travel to Japan with me! May 2023 trip: bit.ly/3NoyR5G
Bonus videos, book club & writing updates ✨ / christyannejones
Hello and welcome to another video! On our recent Japan trip, I was finally able to travel back to Hakone. It's been FOUR whole years since we travelled to this peaceful little onsen town. We had a maigcal day: visited a traditional tea house, went to an onsen and just enjoyed the lovely area around Hakone.
I love Hakone as many of you know--it's a perfect Tokyo day trip. And, if you're planning a trip, I hope this gives you some ideas on what to do in Hakone! I hope you all enjoy this cozy vlog 💛

I wish I saw this when I was in Japan last month.. I was in Hakone Feb 1st just for a day trip and I could have done the onsen at that place too as I passed that hotel that day. Love Hakone! Went there in January 2020 and stayed for a few days and fell in love w Hakone and onsens. Take care!

This vlog was absolutely beautiful, so I feel weird commenting on the convenience store onigiri right at the start, but I basically used to live on onigiri when I lived in Japan and seeing you open one brought back so many memories!

*tears up* ahh i can't believe it has been this long since you talked about feeling proud of yourself and how you felt so excited because it was your first paid writing trip! that video was one of the first times i specifically remember feeling silly proud of a human being i didn't even know in real life. crazy how time flies and things change and grow. and now look! you're a published author with a sold out book and working on another. aww heck *tears up again*

Thank you for sharing your experience!! It allowed me to recall our trip to Hakone back in 2016, where we did 80% of what you showed, only backwards (+ a private outdoor onsen in a fancy ryokan) 😅 I wish I had filmed and made a vlog for myself back then, it’s such a shame I didn’t! This alone is a good reason to start vlogging I guess… anyways, I’m glad I have your channel in my subscriptions and can reminisce about my Japan adventures now that I have two small kids, thank you! 😊

What a wonderful series of vlogs to watch to get back into your videos again. I don't think 20 minutes have ever gone by as quickly as when I watched these. Side Note: Christy, you are absolutely radiant. Maybe it's the post-onsen glow, maybe not. Just worth mentioning.

In the past year or so, I've really become interested in Japanese culture. I hope to visit Japan for an extended period (maybe a month? Fingers crossed!) in the next couple of years. Will definitely buy your book to see what else you recommend and learn more about your personal experiences in Japan!

another great video! I always and still do love to go to Japan, I think it is one of the beautiful places in the world (despite never been!) I love studio ghibli movies and kingdom hearts and Final Fantasy games (other anime movies and shows, I even watched a japanese drama called Mother (2006, I think.) and another one, tomorrow mom won't be here and a few more here and there, I also have a few favorite Japanese singers such as Koda Kumi and Utada Hikaru. i honestly can't wait for another writing vlog, you help me focus through them especially during a writer's block. my novel, Fallen has got 70611 words. (it's gene is a fantasy/romance novel) I'm currently on chapter 20 and only got six or five to go (originally the novel was suppose to have 25 chapters, but it went to 26 on the first draft and I'm hoping it'll be the same.)

Nice! I'm planning a day trip to Hakone from Tokyo as well. I've been wondering though: does it make sense to purchase a Hakone Ticket, even though you can only visit for a day? I planned a similar route to yours and I'm not sure about the prices and the overall timetable for my trip.
