You are such an inspiration Wayne! Makeup is very important to me and your channel played a big part in that. Ive many health issues, I became very self conscious as a result. I walk with crutches or use a wheelchair, my hair was falling out due to treatment for blood clots, my face was breaking out in red lumps from stress. It was awful. I started watching KZbin at this time, as I was housebound a majority of the time and thats how I got into makeup. It was a way of feeling normal again, to feel human. I still struggle with my health but im no longer embarrassed to be seen out. I may be on crutches or in my chair, but I dont look seriously ill, and it makes me feel normal for a while. Makeup also helps my family as they can see me trying to live again and its a relief to them. Your channel has a huge impact on people, and I hope you know how much you have helped me through a very difficult time. You are a star! Janine x

I came to your channel for makeup, years ago, but I stayed because of your personality. The more of it that you share, the happier I am as a viewer. However, I also truly get the not wanting to share certain aspects because people would be hurt or there would be a backlash of some sort. Btw, I love that you would ask who the nicest customers were and offer your services to them for free. I truly believe that niceness is among the most underrated qualities in the world right now - I see so many people elbowing their way into success and leaving the people that helped them get there behind. I genuinely hope and believe that one will be rewarded for niceness in the long-run though ❤️

Wayne, Being nice is good for your soul. I still remember years ago, I used to see an elderly lady walking into town quite often. She always looked immaculate, making slow progress down the high street. One day I just walked up to her and told her I just felt I had to stop her and tell her how wonderful she always looked. She was thrilled and walked on with a spring in her step, while I was happy to have made her smile.

I'm really enjoying your videos where you've been sharing personal stories. You've always come across as a nice guy, but hearing you talk about your life and your feelings and ethics and inspirations and stuff confirms it. You're kind and you're sweet, and we need more positivity in the world, and we especially need to see more genuine niceness on KZbin. And talking about the salad days ... I often look back on my own and wish I could go back. The days when I was dirt poor and barely scraping seemed miserable at the time, but that was when the smallest things felt truly special. I buy tons of makeup now, and I do enjoy the things I get, but it doesn't come close to comparing to the days when being able to get just one eye shadow was a massive treat and made me so incredibly happy. I would walk out of a store with a $10 purchase feeling like I was clutching a bag of gold, and if I had enough left to sit in a cafe and have a latte, that was pure luxury! It makes me sad that I spent so much of that time wishing it was over, because it was the happiest time of my life.

It's very cathartic isn't it Wayne ? You are a true Piscean , not at all materialistic, thinking of others before yourself.. And still reeling from lost love .. You say it's great to talk , I say it's great to listen , you are such a lovely person , hope everything you want comes your way x

Wayne (my brother's name was Wayne), I really enjoyed your comments about nice people. This August my mother will be 104 years old. She has dementia (don't we all). All of her care givers comment about how nice she is and I tell them this is how she has always been. I hear you talk about you adoptive mother and I think how lucky we are to have such wonderful mothers. That is why you seek out nice people; you are passing it on.

Hi Wayne. I've always been interested in human behavior and have a college education that reflects this interest and one thing that I've learned that is absolutely etched in stone is that people learn by example. And I have a friend/colleague that I learn from every single day simply by the way that he interacts with others & I admire this in him. Now, because I admire this, it's allowed me to sort of learn and adopt some of these lovely traits and "ways" with others. So, I'm QUITE sure that your gentle kindness serves as a teacher to others as well. Not because you're trying to teach but because it happens naturally just by your example - that's a beautiful thing! We don't always remember what a person may say to us, but we NEVER forget how a person made us feel!!! You are such a great teacher and power of example Wayne. I admire this in you. Best to you always. 🙂
@Allyson6C

In addition Wayne, because I've watched, learned & studied human behavior most of my life and feel very passionate about the subject as a whole, I've also become sort of "seasoned" in "reading people" (for lack of a nicer word). Perhaps reading between the lines is a better description and one thing that has always stood out to me about you is that aside from your gentle way, or more accurately put, your gentle heart, I see a man who's emotions run very deep, but they have and do play a profound role in the person you've become. I see someone who's much more sensitive than what is displayed on KZbin. I see someone who's been empowered by emotional setbacks and emotional pain instead of letting the pain define him or falling victim to his own demons. That is strength of character my friend! Something we all can learn from!! XO Much love, Allyson

Mr. Goss, I've been enjoying your makeup reviews---well, all things cosmetic. I've come to trust your opinion to help me think outside the box; to have fun with makeup, even tho I've only been completely obsessed with it for only three yrs and I'm now 55. I must say how lovely it is for me to watch these personal stories of of yours; how they warm my soul knowing that there are similar people as me. Sometimes in life we can feel bombarded with all the ugliness surrounding us. Altho we are quite different in so many ways, we are quite the same where it counts most--we are the same in heart. Thanks so much for sharing who you are with me. It uplifts my spirit when I feel your goodness come thru your videos. Sending warm wishes to you...

I just love listening to stories about other peoples lives, not because I'm nosey but because it's so cool to hear how others lives have changed over the years. Wayne you should write a journal of all your memories while they are still so fresh in your mind, sadly as we get older some of the small memories slip away and are lost. One day when you are much older you will love reading back over the good and bad times of your life.

Love your life story. love hearing it good or bad. it's makes you so real and more human please keep doing them . my grand son he's 5 loves makeup he has since he was 2 . he would watch me put it on and was a great time. at 5 years old he started asking questions. why this product, what goes where ect . even wanting a little eyebrow pencil on one of his eyebrows because he has a scare and no hair there . watching his love of makeup is just beautiful. he started watching the people I follow on you tube about makeup he has a little tablet of his own. I told him he van do anything with his life if he loves makeup then do it when you grow up. who knows where this wil lead for him maybe it won't but just the joy he shows for it amaze me .

Mr. Goss, Not only are you an incredibly gifted make-up artist, but you are also an amazingly talented, inspirational speaker. Creativity and beauty never manifests itself in just one single area. I adore listening to your story. There is a special quality you have that cannot be learned. When you speak there is no question that what you are saying comes from deep inside of your soul. You sir have a beautiful heart and soul. There is no doubt in my mind that by sharing your coming out journey that you have saved many lives. I can picture a documentary, with you as the narrator of your life story. I become entirely mesmerized and thoroughly immersed when listening to you speak. My world simply stops. Much love and never underestimate the fact that you sir are an artist. I look forward with great anticipation for your next chapter.

I love your personal story and your honesty to talk about your pass to everyone is lovely . I grew up living on a estate as my father was a gardener all his life and my mum couldn't work as she was crippled up with arthritis from the age of 27 so we had no money either just dads money to run the house feed us and run his car he even bought a three wheeler for cheapness but it was the worst mistake he made as it broke down every time we went out in it funny to think of this now . Unfortunately my parents are no longer here as dad died last year from Cancer he did work hard for me and mum . I was a only child too and like your self couldn't afford make up and when I started work I bought all the high end make up and skincare which I absolutely adore and still do . Look forward to your next part of your story loads of love x

It was so lovely to hear your history. I had a very similar experience with cooking, I was cooking for free and having a positive attitude and everything stared to unfold for me, I became a chef with my on business, and than I gave up everything. I will tell you why. With cooking I start to get to know a lot of wealthy people, specially because I live in Zurich, where big money is everywhere. I became friends with those people and realize their difficult to feel happy and satisfied. I didn't understand why. They had money and security and I was running after exactly that!!! Thinking that I needed that to be complete. But, after 2 years watching this environment I came back to my very simple life, I saw that the moments I felt more happy were when I was helping people and sharing the little I had. I understood how money Isolate us and make our egos way to big for our soul. I was starting to wanting more and more and not feel anything. Thanks to the universe I remembered that I was more happy when I was cooking just for me and friends and talking about life, I felt much better than cooking for a banker that didn't look on my eyes to say thank you. Now, I'm a happy vegan that work 2 times per week as a nanny and try to help as many people as I can. Funny enough I don't even remember what I bought with the money I had ... Now I'm collecting smiles. I admire you a lot... Thank you for sharing.

Wayne, I'm really enjoying the personal videos you've been posting. I'm 35 and just now starting to become interested in makeup (well ok it's more like obsessed haha), I never had anyone in my life really teach me how (my mother has never been into "girly" things), so when I would do my makeup it was extremely minimal. I've recently been through some hard times and as I've started to get myself to a point where I was tired of feeling so depressed I started watching KZbin videos about hairstyles and makeup cause I wanted to do something different that made me feel good about myself and you're one of the first channels I came across that I really enjoyed and has been so helpful in teaching me all the many things I can do with makeup and to be able to have fun with it. But these personal videos you've been posting has also been helpful in other ways, I struggle still even at my age to really know what I want to do with my life and what truly makes me happy and also where to even begin if I do figure it out. Hearing about how you managed to figure these things out and how you succeeded in turning what you love into a career is very helpful to hear about cause it not only gives me hope that I can do the same (even though I feel so far behind others my age), it also gives me ideas on how to go about it even if it ends up not being a makeup artist, I can still apply your advice towards any career. So thank you for sharing your journey in life with us all and I can't wait to hear more about it. All the best to you, take care xx

I know it's been a long time since you commented this, but I've just discovered Wayne and am binge watching.. I could have written this comment. We share a name, and similar story. It's only the last few years I've figured out how to deal with my hair (my mum has completely different hair and had no idea what to do with my thick curls), she never wears make-up or really took any care with her skincare or appearance so never taught me, and I've started to realise as I've gotten older that those things are important for self care. I also still don't have a goal, I want one, but I have no idea.

Thank you so much for these videos, Wayne. Wonderful advice in this one. Thanks so much for underlining the importance of being nice. Success is too often viewed as this "pie" of finite size where in order to be successful and "get your piece" you have to be somewhat ruthless. Success is infinite and there's plenty to go around. Sharing success with others is SO important. It boosts everyone, including the one sharing it.

Your experience with nice people was just lovely! Also I totally agree with the idea of "giving back", not necessarily to the same people who have given us or done good things for us but to new people, strangers or as you said other nice people. If everybody does so, we can be at the receiving end of that several times in our lives and because that's unexpected that's really heartwarming and good. all the best

I'm studying to become a makeup "artist" and I am really glad that you shared this part of your story with us! You are an inspiration to me, and I aspire to become as good as you are. You are absolutely right about how being nice can take you places. I've been doing my cousin's makeup to practice, and also because she is an aspiring singer and she needs makeup for her performances. I really hope that the word eventually spreads and I can do this more often, because makeup transports me into another world. It gives me joy. I don't know if it happens to you too, but whenever I'm doing someone's makeup and while watching your videos on KZbin I forget about any worry or problem I have! It's like therapy to me :)

I've searched and still am searching for ways for me to cover 4 decades of scars & the still active acne. I think I am a pretty woman but always the caveat of my scars & zits keep me from feeling beautiful. One thing I know for certain...NICE does go a very long way!! Spreading kindness in small ways-in all ways-on all days!! That's how I choose to live!!!! The added bonus is that kindness is a wonderful 'foundation' that 'covers' my scars in the eyes of someone I've brought a smile to...

Hi Wayne, I found your channels a few months ago and have been quietly watching and listening to them. I believe our time difference from where you live and where I live is quite a few hours difference and thought that by the time I posted a comment you would be on to another video or tutorial. I decided I would give it a try and post and hope that you read this. I really don't do much commenting on this sort of media I just watch and try to learn as much as I can. But, I have to let you know how much I admire you and your genuine, honest and humble nature. Your talent is amazing and I can only dream of being able to meet you and have you do my makeup. I truly, truly love watching your tutorials and hearing all your stories about your life. I would love to know if you do a question and answer type session or is there a way to ask you questions to get answers on specific issues or concerns that a mature woman is having, as I just your judgement and knowledge and honestly would not even consider asking anyone else that does what you do regarding makeup. I just can't put into words how much I respect, admire and cherish your knowledge and the man you are. Thank you for what you do. Diane

These videos make me so happy! I'm not quite sure that I can explain it exactly, but it's such a wonderful feeling hearing other people speak so genuinely. Warms my heart knowing that there really ARE nice people out there that have thoughts that echo my own... Sometimes people make that easy to forget.

I love these story times. I had a PlayStation when I lived in a studio apartment on a futon mattress on the floor. It was also my only source of entertainment, on my tiny little CRT TV. While I was struggling back then, I look back fondly now as a learning experience :) Also, wanted to say I can't thank you enough for the Hourglass eyeliner video, it's been an amazing water liner for my hooded eyes! I can't live without it now!

Memories are bittersweet. Some good and some not so good, but all of them help make us who we are today. I think often times people focus on the bad and become bitter. You have found a balance, but focused on the good. And that my friend, has made you the kind, humble and loving person you are. I love your videos, but most especially your personal ones which gives insight into you as a person.❤😉

I enjoy hearing origin stories and behind the scenes! I'd love to see a 'day in the life of Wayne Goss' 👍 I love my Air-Brush! I've been using it everyday since it arrived! So pleased you chose to sell brushes through a website that ships worldwide. Sometimes it's difficult to get all the nice stuff I see on KZbin in New Zealand!

I just love you. I am a 54 yr old wife and Mom in California and just in the last few years started getting into makeup. I very, VERY rarely write comments. I turned to YT to learn what I didn't know. All of it has changed my life and you my friend are one of the very few I am still watching. What I have learned from you is so greatly appreciated and I wish I could tell in in person. Aside from makeup YT has (shall we say) enlightened me to the fact that there are so many unhappy people. It's so sad to think that they are not living their best lives because they are constantly tearing others down. I am a Christian woman in a Christian family and what my husband and I believe and teach our children is that we are all Gods and made in His image. He doesnt say only certain people are He says ALL PEOPLE are made in His image. We treat everyone as such. We don't have to agree with everything but everyone deserves to be treated with love. Anyway, I have wanted to write for sometime and tell you thank you for having a part in my love for makeup this late in life (my hubby may not agree with that part! 😉), and for being a wonderful part of YT! Love and Blessings to you Wayne Goss, Cathy G. P. S. Oh and I've finially decided to take the plunge and get all your brushes! I can't swing all at once but slowly I will get them and my goal is to only have those as opposed to what I have now which is a mess of whatever! I can't wait! 😊
