@Brianna omg just saw this comment! Yes I took a lot of skills over for sure. If you’ve worked with kids then you’ve probably already had some challenges and unexpected behaviors and that’s a good thing to have experience in when it comes to being an RBT!

Ah same!! I was a preschool teacher which was an easy switch over but still so different in its own ways! I’ve been doing this for about 2 months now and still help out at the preschool sometimes. I’m learning so much and love it😊

You can search an abundance of videos on salaries without her having to disclose her personal information. She has a video about the process of becoming an RBT. With a little research of your own you can find the most up-to-date salary information for your area.

Most in my area are $17 to $24. I know two people in Miami who's rbt, one makes $27 after years in the same company, the other makes $24 and she started only a few weeks ago, I also know some make even up to $30. Pretty good for only about a month of studying to be honest. When I get a job in the field I'll let you know mine :)

I’m starting out $20 in California with 1 year of relevant experience.

I get paid $24 an hour in CA. If you work FT in home it’s possible they cancel and you lose hours. I highly suggest clinic based if you want full hours

It's great that modern behavioral therapy recognizes that autistics have different sensory needs. When I was a kid, autism therapy was focused only on eliminating sensory needs.

One thing I wanted to mention, in your DTT’s , do you bother to reinforce correct behavior with verbiage stating the correct behavior? I noticed often times you’ll say “awesome or good job!” But not really stating what the client did well on. Is it really required to do it all of the time?
