Ooh I have another challenge idea… Could you try seeing the Moulin Rouge matinee in London and then get to Paris to see an 11pm show at the real Moulin Rouge?

Would it be possible to see Starlight Express in both Germany and London in one day when the UK production opens later this year? Loved the video ^.^

That sounds like it would be relatively easy! I've never been overseas, but from some of the KZbinrs I watch (Caddicarus, MickeyJo, Kara and Nate) it has always seemed to me relatively easy to get from England to France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. I could totally be wrong of course, but my understanding of it, is you hop on a train and within 20 - 30 minutes you're in Germany. Hop another train and you'll be in France within the hour. I think there are even tours that you can book while in England that will have you hopping the train, or boarding a car, and spending the day visiting Italy, Germany, and France. Again, I'm not completely certain this is all true, it's mostly conjecture on my part based on what I've heard other people say... but as a comparison: It seems much quicker traveling between Western European countries than say driving from San Diego, California to Las Vegas, Nevada which is easily an all day trip.
@Simplenotion
@Simplenotion Жыл бұрын
@@cannibalisticrequiem Your understanding is somewhat wrong. Sure some parts of certain countries are very close to each other/share a border. I would know, I grew up right at the German border to Switzerland and France. Now I live in a German town further up north and getting there would take me 5-14 hours depending on the route/train/car. Getting to Spain would take me about 19-21 hours by car/train and that is assuming no traffic/mishaps. By the way neither Italy nor Spain are "western" European countries and Germany is most often sorted into Central Europe. Getting from one to the other farthest removed city of the countries you named (which would be approximately Berwick-upon-Tweed in England and Pachino in Italy) would take at least 32 hours- more likely 42 - there is an ocean in between ;-). The German starlight express is in Bochum. Getting from there to Wembley Park is about 7 hours by train/car. The other option would be flying. Bochum does not have an airport...but a couple of cities nearby do. The flight itself is only about 1,25/1,5 hours...but there are only 3ish flights to London a day. The starlight matinee is on at 3pm Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays. The show runs for almost 3 hours. So you would be finished at 6pm/5 pm. Let's say starlight in London starts at 8pm, we'll pick a Saturday. You'd have two hours plus the one hour time difference to make it. Since getting to a viable airport (Düsseldorf most likely) already takes at least 30 minutes and getting from Heathrow to Wembley Park is also about 30 mins...you would have to catch a perfectly timed flight with basically 30 mins available for security/boarding. I highly doubt that that's possible. Thanks for making me look up all of tis stuff though. It was fun!

@@Simplenotion I was also like " 30 min, you're sweet " I live in NRW and need 2.5 hours to Hamburg, 5-6 hours to Stuttgart and to London it would also be at least 7-8 hours or longer And these are the times by train/car by plane it takes a good 1.5 hours to get from Germany to London but that also depends on the location

I think that if you took the Eurostar you could definitely do a Paris to London 2 show day! Obviously again the time difference would work in your favor, but also St. Pancras and Gare Du Nor are right in the city centers as opposed to airports. Could see something at the Paris Opera House and then go see Phantom of the opera, or see moulin rouge in London then go see something at the actual moulin rouge. I think Mamma Mia is about to open in Paris soon too.

I definitely didn't think you'd be able to pull this off! You should try a Paris/London one next. It's making me wonder if a similar challenge would be possible in Vancouver, Canada to Seattle, WA, USA, but I think only if Six were ever playing in both places at once (which it never would be). Other longer shows just probably wouldn't work.

I think it would be fun to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in Germany and then see part 2 in London. On Saturdays the matinee is 1:00 pm in Germany and 7:00 pm in London. It would be tight considering that it's 3.5 hours in Germany, but could be possible with the time difference (would also be fun to compare)!

Love the shout out to the Orlando airport's iconic monorail (it really is the perfect 1st ride when visiting us) I almost did a 1 day trip to NY for my Birthday seeing 1 show & possibly flying back in the same day. Sadly I haven't done it yet but that's the kind of chaos I love so this was such a blast to watch.

Hmm thinking maybe in Australia during daylight savings(which just started on Sunday) you could do matinee in Sydney then fly up to Brisbane as they're an hour behind & Sydney to Brisbane is 1.5hr flight. Maybe Sydney to Melbourne but you'd be really cutting it close as same timezone & traveling from airport might be a hassle. Or maybe you can do Sydney(or Melbourne or Adelaide) to Perth(6hr flight) as Perth is 3hrs behind Sydney & Melbourne & 2.5hrs behind Adelaide. But Perth & Adelaide sometimes don't get shows so that's why I suggest Sydney & Melbourne more

In 2024 Jesus Christ Superstar will tour The Netherlands with a dutch cast (amazing Dutch artists and musical performers) but English spoken and sung. I think you can make a Two show in 2 countries day if you watch the matinee at 14:00 (100 minutes & no break) in Maastricht (on sunday 10th of march) And drive to Cologne in Germany which is aprox 1,5 hours by car to watch Moulin rouge there at 19:30 (this is then a german spoken show). But should be fun & doable ;)
