Social media has created an alternate universe that none of us really inhabit. We watch it and sometimes, very sadly, fail to live the lives we really have. This is truly, on many levels, a time of crisis and restriction that can drain the soul and leave us flattened. At least that is my struggle.

I love just how open you've become when talking about mental health, especially during this pandemic. Sending you lots of love!!

Thank you for your honesty and transparency. I always enjoy your videos and feel inspired when watching them. The content is deep yet light and refreshing all at once. Not sure how that’s possible but you make it happen with such creativity each time.

The one thing we should all be grateful for is we are still here.......we all survived the first wave of the pandemic.......thousands of people around the world didn’t.

Love, we come here for you. Whatever you want to share is up to you. I appreciate your thoughtfulness when you say you’d rather not poor your issues on us but we all have more vulnerable moments. Your thought process can always help others dealing with theirs. Thank you for your content !

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Alix! It's good for your mental health to talk your mind out loud so you can process the thoughts and emotions, and also great for us to hear your quite intelligent viewpoints. Have a lovely day! Don't let the weather get you down.

Great vlog ☺️ I needed to be reminded of those points you made and try to enjoy the little things in life now which do help lift the spirits 🤍🤍🤍

loved this vlog! i’ve missed your videos but I did figure you probably needed a minute to yourself which is completely necessary sometimes! I agree with the points you mentioned about comparison, social media can make it a challenge to be content with yourself & what you have. it’s an ongoing process for us all. but your content is loved, don’t try & be anything you aren’t you can only be yourself 💛

Totally relatable. I’ve been to the New Forest twice now for the beautiful and tranquil scenery and I’ve just come back feeling the same as you. I haven’t been in the London office since March and won’t be until 2021 and I am so grateful and lucky to have this opportunity, good health, a roof over my head with my loved ones but my gosh these gloomier, groundhog days are testing my depression.

Maxims to ponder: President Theodore Roosevelt said "Comparison is the thief of joy." Eleanor Roosevelt said "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Eleanor's mother was considered the beauty of NYC society in her day, and she was disappointed? aghast? that her daughter was so very homely. Imagine growing up with that. Her father adored her but died while she was a child. Her mother-in-law didn't care for her, and her husband had affairs. She forged her own path at a time when women typically didn't. It is very human to think the grass is greener elsewhere, but no one has to cave in to that notion. If Eleanor did it, we can as well.

I only recently upgraded from an iPhone 6 😂 and I have only just been able to use these Instagram filters and I was shocked. I think it’s a really important issue and been on my mind this week. A great topic to raise and a positive way of doing it 👌

I'm a big A/W fan too, but it's definitely been a bit grim this year, especially with everything going on! I feel like I don't quite know what I'm doing with myself these days - just trying to get through life without overthinking the news and trying to embrace A/W style and look forward to more cosy days etc. It's definitely an odd feeling though! xx

Alix, you might enjoy listening to Your Undivided Attention podcast - it's by the Center for Humane Tech (the people behind Netflix's Social Dilemma). It doesn't necessarily cover mental health and social media but it really gives a good insight to how social media and the internet works or doesn't.
