My doctor had indicated that my baby was going to be big. A week toward the end of my pregnancy the doctor would stretch my cervix to help with my labour and hopefully avoid stitches. I was one week overdue and went into labour which was only 6 hours long. I delivered a 9 lbs 13.5 oz baby naturally with absolutely no stitches. I was very grateful my doctor knew how to make my delivery successful. My son is now 32 years old!

They are usually located in the aisle with wax paper, foil, saran wrap etc... You just put in a liner (its like a clear bag) and your food into that and then put the lid on and your good to go. Clean up is so easy....you just throw away the bag and wipe off any residue.

Hi Clancy! I had a very similar situation to the nurse you talked to. I had an emergency c-section with my first daughter because she got stuck. Recovery was pretty smooth and went way better than I thought it was going to! When I got pregnant with my second daughter, I was told I was not a good candidate for a VBAC so we scheduled an elective c-section. Long story short, she came much too quickly and there wasn’t time for the cesarean. I ended up having an unmedicated VBAC, and the recovery was much harder! I guess my point is that everybody is different and it’s impossible to predict how things will play out. Try not to stress too much and please don’t freak yourself out with things you read online! As a few other people have mentioned, ultrasound measurements can be wildly inaccurate! Best of luck ❤
@LeslieSweet-s5y4 ай бұрын
I love that you are so open to whatever happens in your delivery! It makes things much less stressful! I was in a similar situation with my first - the ultrasound estimated him to be around 11 pounds at my 40 week appointment (he ended up being 9lbs 3oz) so my doctor recommended a c-section. I’m glad I did it because he was delivered safely, but I do wish I had asked if the hospital would allow vbacs. I think I would have weighed my options more if I knew my hospital didn’t allow them under any circumstances because I would have wanted to try for one with my second baby! Just something to consider and ask about at your next appointment!

My induction with my daughter went amazing. Born at 39 weeks and 4 days. 8lbs 4 oz & 20 inches long. My dr this time around listened to me as my son was on the bigger side and also in her growth scan, she had some extra poly which explains why i wasnt feeling so great physically toward the end. I expressed concerns, we based a decision off what i wanted after the scan. She is here happy and healthy. No issues.

I have had 5 kids and there’s no true way to know what size the baby is till you see it. It can only be measurements. I have had so many experiences from inductions, c-sections, vaginal, and back labor. North is unpredictable. I watched tons of KZbin while pregnant and I wish I did it more my first 2 pregnancies. There are a lot of educational how-tos even for breastfeeding. Also, I did not know if you got any baby gowns. That was my go-to cause baby’s wake so easily when (in my experience) they have been up for hours. For diaper changes, it was a lifesaver cause I did not have to disrupt them much. A lot of times, buttons popping open startled them a lot more so when you are sleeping at nights. I know this is long, but I am just so happy for you guys. You are truly glowing!

I am built pretty small (5’1 and was only 95 lbs before pregnancy) and delivered a 7lb 8oz baby vaginally, they had to help with forceps and the vacuum but I delivered him. They do this every day, sometimes multiple times a day so they know the signs and will tell you right away when they think it’s going to be teetering on an unsafe situation for you and baby ❤

I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a KZbin video before but I have to be an advocate for Mom’s on Call!! 🙌 I would recommend their method to anyone! My husband and I have used it for our two babies who are 14 months apart and they were sleeping through the night by 12 and 14 weeks and napping great too. And personally, I knew I would be a better Mom to them if I was well rested. I felt the same way about not being too strict on a schedule but I found that having a solid schedule for your baby actually enables you to have more overall flexibility in your life. Humans (babies included!) overall thrive on a schedule so babies on a good one are typically happy and content little things :) Prayers for you during this beautiful new chapter!

I am so much like you! Having a plan makes me feel more comfortable. I may face fertility issues, but I know God has a plan. He sent me the sweetest rescue puppy and i am blessed to have him. My mom and sister ended up with general anesthesia. My sister’s was due to her epidural not working on one side. I’ve never heard of anyone else needing a c-section for that, so I’m not worrying about that for myself. It was a fluke for my mom, too. My niece had a big head and my sister only got to a 6. Thank you for being real. You haven’t been negative at all! It’s healthy to talk through anxieties and be ok with just ending up with you both healthy! I know it’s hard being a natural planner and trying to prepare your brain for every possibility. It’s a struggle learning to be flexible, but compare it to your nomad life. You had an idea of what to expect, but knew there would be experienced locals with advice, so you went to your AirBNB and adapted. Your family will do the same at the hospital and all getting to know each other for years to come. Baby Boy has already taught you that surprises can be better than plans! I told my sister the same thing you are telling yourself about getting to leave with a baby! I just can’t wait to see Asher’s reaction!

@@ClancyBurkeXDon’t make me cry! I’m good at weddings, but babies get me. My sister was advised to stop after my niece. (Don’t worry-it’s just her. I was the easy child. She manages to have the weirdest health issues. She could have more kids, but she would need blood thinners and she’s already been on them and doesn’t want to risk my niece not having a mom.) BUT my niece will be 21 tomorrow! My mom’s birthday is Friday. I still tell my sister that after 3 days in labor, she could have waited another 6.5 hours so they could share a birthday. My sister was born on my second birthday and we are exact opposites. I typed it all with one finger on my iPad because I need to go check out the new MacBooks if they are out. I probably should have sent it on IG from my phone, but I do things that hard way, obvi. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I know it’s hard for you now because you are just waiting to meet him! Just remember that you will be around people who can get a baby out so quickly and they’ve got tons of experience. His grand entrance will be the first of many surprises the baby has in store!
