Love what you said about shooting the different formats iPhone and film etc. I agree 100%

thanks, yes, I get teased for using my iPhone by some, and shooting film by others, but I don't really care. If I wanted to live life walking down the boring middle, I would, but I don't want to. Thanks for commenting!

Hey Simon, I'm glad you found the video. I hope you and your wife had a good trip. Did either of you guys anything there? All the best from Vancouver.

bigheadtaco I was satisfied purely window shopping.. not really that's a lie. I just got home to Brisbane from Taiwan and China and I get the feeling there isn't a place like Champagne court anywhere else in the world.

I made my first visit to Champagne Court yesterday. Wow, what a seedy area. I'm fairly sure you caught a few working girls in either your videos or stills. That's Hong Kong though. Great camera gear but at a high cost at Champagne Court. Planning a trip to Sim City soon to check out the accessories.

Funny, I'm pretty tunnel visioned at times. I've been to Champagne Court over a dozen times, I've always known about the 'girls' there, but I've never noticed them there. I've seen them at other places, but not inside. As for pricing, once you get to know the people and they've seen you a few times, pricing is negotiable. They are definitely negotiable at Sim City as well, but get ready to battle. You can also check out Shogun Camera just a few blocks away, and there's other stores near them. Also at the very top of K11 mall there's a really slick camera store, but they sell mostly new.

"There's more to a camera than just lens sharpness." Quote of the decade.
@bigheadtaco8 жыл бұрын
+Joel Wyncott I don't know if you're being sarcastic, but my 25-30 year journey in photography has brought me to this conclusion, as has many of my peers and photographic heroes.
@JoelWyncott8 жыл бұрын
I’m not being sarcastic at all! People place way too much stock in lens sharpness, so I really appreciate photographers who understand that it’s really not the most important thing. Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t realize this.
@bigheadtaco8 жыл бұрын
Joel Wyncott ha ha, good good. I couldn't 'read' your tone (the weakness of communicating through a keyboard). Yes, most great photographers I've met rarely talk about lens sharpness as the number one feature of a lens.... the Canon G7X and G5X has a soft lens compared to the Sony RX100 series, but the touch screen, amazing OIS and interface is what draws people to the Canon's. What people are drawn to the Leica's is the lens rendering, not necessarily lens sharpness (although they are really sharp too!).
@JoelWyncott8 жыл бұрын
Yeah, tone rarely comes through very well in KZbin comments. But I totally agree. I had a Fuji X100s, and that doesn’t have the sharpest lens either, but its renders beautifully, and the camera has such a charm about it. Photography is so much more enjoyable when you aren’t over-concerned with the “specs”! (At least in my humble opinion)
@bigheadtaco8 жыл бұрын
Joel Wyncott those that focus an inordinate amount of time and energy on specs and pixel-peeping are usually not very good photographers (due to wasting time thinking too much about stats and specs and features). Just shoot, enjoy, share!

Can buy an umbrella, but then the extra arm to hold it is an issue.

yes I really didn't want to burden myself with carrying more things, but I did end up buying yet another umbrella after being caught in the rain that day....
