For real. Now you have to pray that your train runs on time the full length and not get punted off at Preston with every train cancelled.

Your videos and blogs are very informative and excellent viewing, I've even made a wish list. Unfortunately unable to do any due to health and mobility problems. Yours and Scott's videos really cheer me up, how another challenge? Maybe Europe?

Happy memories. On first visit back to uk in 30 years in 2012. We travelled Glasgow to London on Virgin first class, as it wasn’t much more expense. Fabulous journey, haven’t been able to better it, even on Eurostar, Italian or French trains. Returned again in 2014 and 2018…last time using the underground I thought nah, that’s enough of London

“All the humanity!” …. Living in London is definitely a young person’s “gig” at least as it pertains to mass transit. The “tube” is very “cozy” and the carriages come to within a couple of inches from scraping the walls of the tunnel. That’s impressive engineering work when it comes to establishing carriage overall specs. But the icing is without a doubt calling McDonalds fast food “global cuisine”. Cheers 🥂 🇨🇦

It's incredible when we look back at how far trains have come from the days of British Rail. I was sorry to see Virgin lose their franchise for both the XC & West Coast services. Simon Calder, well respected travel correspondent & journalist paid tribute to Virgin for demonstrating how a good rail service should be run.

I’m in Sydney. I can’t find where trains are cheaper than flying. I’m going there in just over 8 weeks.

What point going to charring cross from Euston to then go padding would made more sense go straight to paddington from Euston, it’s only like two or three stops on the tube

Awful luggage storage space on Virgin Trains. OK for cabin hand luggage, but suitcase is really difficult to store. More like a Ryanair plane than train.

It's been over 30 years since I've been in London. There's no way I could afford to visit now. That's okay, though. I've discovered the north, and like it better.

Does anyone know why the Scottish government stripped Virgin of the West Coast franchise?.
@malo66 Жыл бұрын
I don't think it was a Scottish government decision. And it may be Virgin were fed up with the costs involved; I don't really remember.

Working in travel, the industry here in Scotland were genuinely sad to see the Virgin franchise go. Just like Virgin Atlantic, they weren't as 'stuffy' as some other operators.
