I grew up very "comfortable". I went to the best schools, had nice things, and no real worries. Everyone on the outside thought our life was perfect. My dad however, struggled deeply and never let it out. He took his own life via gunshot, in front of me and my mother when I was 16. I'm sharing this because YES! feel your feelings! I'm no longer "privileged". When my dad died my mom was a sahm, and suicide voided all insurance policies so I was actually homeless for a bit. Were not poor now, but we struggle for sure. No matter what your bank account says, your feelings are legitimate and I think if my dad took his feeling seriously and got help, I may have him today! Please take care of you!

Yea, as long as someone isn't being insensitive (i.e. rich celebrities complaining about having to stay home with their fully stocked pantries in their mansions with Olympic-sized Infinity pools), I think anyone can feel equally frustrated about this situation.

I heard it once said that just because there may be someone else that is doing worse than our particular situation doesn’t make ours any less, doesn’t make our feelings any less. So no matter what our situation is doesn’t make bad feelings or bad things not happen to us all. Jen thank you for sharing your life and feelings.

How much more peaceful would the world be if we all realised that money doesn’t make you happy and it certainly doesn’t erase problems. I’ve been both very poor and very comfortable and neither has had any effect whatsoever on my feelings or general life experience. All happiness comes from within.

The sticker pages are punched the way they are so they fit in both the ringed binder and the coiled planners. I just watched Cindy Guentert-Baldo's video. She seemed to have no problem with them. Hers fit the ringed binder perfectly.

The sticker pages were not a mistake. They said it last year and again this year that they don’t know how many people will order binders, so they order the sticker sheets as they always have and then include them in with the binder orders. I feel like they should order the same amount of sheets as they do binders and punch them appropriately, but that’s the WHY.

I've been watching your content for a few years now and just wanted to say how refreshing this vlog was! Lately, I've been coming to terms with my feelings in a whole new way. I've been spending the last few years not only apologizing for my feelings, but actually feeling like something was wrong with me...maybe I'm too sensitive, maybe it's all in my head, maybe it's me yadda yadda. I had years filled with self doubt and not setting healthy boundaries with people in my family gaslighting me. No more! It was so encouraging seeing you being you!

I've been thinking about this a lot in quarantine because compared to everyone else we are doing fine. We have a 2 year old and I'm exhausted and lonely for company, but my husband still has his job and works full time from home. We have a big beautiful home and neighborhood and can afford the extra things we need to entertain our son. I'm a stay at home mom so we're not juggling two jobs at home and taking care of our toddler. And I felt like I didn't have a right to be sad. But you would't tell someone "You're not allowed to feel happy because there are LOTS OF PEOPLE WHO FEEL HAPPIER THAN YOU!"... I'm allowed to feel grieve this weird time, even if I have it better than most people...

I have the same period scenario as you. I have 2 kids, was on the pill since my late teens and didn’t have cramps then. Once I went off the meds I got light to medium cramps. You seem to be struggling so much right now, so as a long, long, long-time viewer, I am going to offer you some very raw advice. Of course, you can share any feelings you want. But so can all of us, your viewers. This may mean that you get negative feedback when you do share, and that is absolutely OK (barring abuse, of course). Your feelings are valid, and perhaps some of the negative feedback is also valid. You cannot control how people perceive you, and that seems to be a big hurdle for you. With all due love and respect, get over it (said hurdle). Some viewers, veritable strangers, will love you as if you were family. Some viewers will hate your privilege and see you as whiny every time you open your mouth, even though they do not know you personally. To be OK with who you are, you must embrace both opinions and release your control and ownership over either. Other people's opinions do not define you. As making entertainment content and hosting ads is your business, your viewers are your customers, and frankly most of us are discerning and all of us choose to be here. We will likely not be swayed from our own positions on how good of a person you are. Much love!

Jen could never handle any negative feedback or constructive criticism. She always responds in an extremely passive/aggressive manner. It is sad that all those years of therapy have done little to help her grow as a person. I think it would greatly benefit Jen to get a job outside of her home once this all calms down. It will put some things into perspective for her and provide a lot of opportunity for growth.
@KimberleyPaige1
@KimberleyPaige1 4 жыл бұрын
@@jennyfromthehood1 I know it's a long shot, but I think it's her only shot at growing as a person. She will be stuck (literally and figuratively) within the walls of her house indefinitely if she does not step outside of her comfort zone. It would give her the opportunity to interact with all different types of people and hopefully show her that there is life besides planners, yoga, Disney, and fancy tea mugs.

T Mac I agree. I think there’s been a lot of jealousy over the years over the lifestyle Jen has been able to keep. Now that she is going through a divorce and understandably struggling, everyone feels the need to point out every little thing as well as what she needs to do with her life. That’s all up to Jen. I’m laughing at the comments on hair not being brushed. Really? I suppose we all , including our children should have their hair neatly brushed every second of the day. Such a lame observance. I’m sure Jen will get past this period in her life and do well ( without all the suggestions of what others think she needs)

It is clear that you have a passion for people and you’re empathetic. We love your planner videos. I've been on both ends of the life spectrum....raised my daughter alone for the first nine years of her life and really struggled but built a life for us, then life changed for us when I met my husband 21 years ago and now here I am at 58, comfortable and so grateful....but emotional struggles for me have always been the same. I think that my early years struggling but making a beautiful life were honestly my favorite years...the best memories....the most accomplished for me. As far as masks go BOY do I understand....wearing them and seeing them on others is so surreal - scary - anxiety provoking.....I've suffered with anxiety all of my life....but THIS. I FEEL THE SAME. Try not to look to far ahead about the upcoming school year (my daughter is now a teacher) - I'm trying too. If we just do the best we can each day, and that may change day to day....that's something to be proud of. God bless you and your little ones, Jen... 🙏❤️🇺🇸🌏

I’m an RN & have had many occasions to wear masks. Many of us still hate wearing them. But, they do prevent airborne illnesses. I had a doctors appointment yesterday, my daughter went with me (she’s 22 & in school to be an RN as well & works in a hospital) & even we felt ackward with the masks on. They basically suck. They are never comfortable. But they do the job. ☺️

I think I can relate to your discomfort in feeling overwhelmed and sad. I am not “well-off,” but I am a teacher who is able to homeschool my own children right now, while still getting a full paycheck, and my “essential worker” husband is still getting his full paycheck. We received a stimulus check that we didn’t really “need”. I feel guilt for being stressed, inconvenienced, and sad. Most of my students are home alone because their single parent is still working. They rely on the free breakfasts and lunches we provide. They have it much worse than me and my family, right? So how can I justify being upset? The bottom line is: everyone lives their own experience. We can’t continue to gauge our own mental state against the hurt of others. You are entitled to feel what you feel and share it how you are comfortable. For what it is worth: hearing your struggle has helped me validate my feelings as well. Thank you for that.

The marker would be good for how I set up a theme for a month or week and than plan on the go. So I usually pack my pencil bag for that month. So I could “make” my marker for the theme. Cool concept in that way.

To keep it short, thank you for this. I have not been able to get or keep my stuff together since all of this started. I am all over the place and my mental health is suffering, to put it lightly. I hate living like this and I know that when things get better, it's not going to be like it was and the uncertainty of what that will mean is hard to reconcile. Take care of yourself and your family and thank you for posting when you have.

Kellie Wyllia me, too. She seems to be shedding some of the perfection she expects of herself and now she has some very real, very adult things going on in her life. It’s hard to watch at times but it’s part of life. I hope she’ll continue to relax into it and work through things. She seems to need some help right now and I bet the loneliness is getting to her.

I once read somewhere - the only thing that money can really buy you is space. It cannot buy good health, it cannot buy love or happiness and it cannot buy peace of mind. If you struggle from a position of privilege, you still struggle and hopefully grow. Of course you are allowed to share your struggles - it shows us that money does not protect one from heartache, insecurity or unhappiness. Hopefully, your criticisers will realise that. I'm so sorry that you are suffering right now, and I hope that it will go better eventually.

Love this “random collection of ramblings” or whatever you called it! Thanks for sharing vulnerable stuff with us! You are lovely. The periods after kids thing-mine never got better without BC to be honest! I wish I had better advice for you, but that was what my body did! BC helped so much (with heaviness, cramps, and acne). Good luck and yes, we all deal with it. Hang in there. 😘

Totally agree about EC binder - it's like they were pressured to make a binder and half assed it - again. For a premium price I expect a lot better. Since the EC binder is a huge fail, I bought the Aura Estelle Cloud binder (a5 wide). It fits the EC binder size pages and allows you to use 'A5 Wide' inserts which are the exact size of ECLP pages. Of course the binder pages look messy because of their ridiculous proprietary punch configuration but there are lots of insert options out there including what AE sells. They missed a great opportunity with Aura Estelle has now successfully taken advantage of. The Cloud is hard to get hold of but they have a presale right now.

I haven't necessarily "planned" during this time but have used my planner as additional documentation- what we ate- what we watched or did- times I had to leave the house (groceries or cat to the vet cause he got sick, etc). Mainly so I can look back later. I use my regular journal for dumping and processing feelings and thoughts. A planner review is important- we won't be in this situation forever.

YES! My period has been worse since having kids. After the first, I had a polyp which was removed and then became pregnant. Now my period has just returned after my second and I am always sick and have contractions. Fully blown, feels like labour contractions. Miserable. You seem like a bit of a bad ass at the moment, and it really suits you! X

Jen, I have watched you since the beginning and you have used the phrase “be gentle with myself” so often over the years. I can’t help but wonder why that is a constant refrain for you? It really makes me wonder what you are saying to yourself that is so constantly harsh that you need to remind yourself to be gentle? I’m sure you won’t respond but if anyone else has thoughts on this, I would love to hear them. I think most people are their own worst critics and it’s something that you deal with so that you can be a good example to your children or a good friend, lover, etc. Its definitely something I have worked on so that my daughter has a good role model. I also don’t understand masks being a trigger. I am SO appreciative when I am out and everyone is wearing one so they don’t unknowingly spread the virus. I don’t wear a mask to keep myself from catching the virus, I wear it so if I do have it, I don’t infect others. It’s true that the mask may not prevent you from catching the virus but it definitely will help to keep the transmission of the virus down. When I see people not wearing masks in places where it is mandated, I think, “what a selfish butthole!” I have an underlying condition and do not want to chance catching this virus, so I really appreciate people,wearing them. It does not trigger me to see them, in fact, it makes me feel like all of these strangers really do care about one another. Who wants to be the jerk NOT wearing a mask?

Agreed. It clearly isn't working for her. Not sure if a therapist used that phrase and she latched on to it as justification for avoidance? Jen has little to no perspective in her life. I think she would benefit greatly from employment outside the house - it would give her a true opportunity for growth and to interact with all different types of people. And the masks "triggering" her is just (in my opinion) Jen being dramatic for attention and sympathy. If she feels that strongly about it she should just prepare to be sheltered in place in her home for the long haul and not send her children back to daycare when they re-open. The world doesn't revolve around our "triggers" and Jen needs to realize that.

Nicola Rae that sucks, I would hate to be like that. You’re so fortunate your community is “safe.” I live in a rural part of NY, so while my community has been “fortunate “ in our spread, we still have the absolute horror of what is happening in the city. I will do whatever I can to keep my family, strangers and self safe. The mask is of little consequence to me. Stores have the absolute right to require a mask, I mean we have all gone by the “no shoes, no shirt, no service” rule. Same with a mask in my mind. Fortunately, if one doesn’t want to wear a mask, they can just avoid those businesses and places where it is required.

EC only prints one kind of stickers for the back that have to work in both the coiled and the binder since they don’t know how many orders they will get of each. I’ve heard Erin explain that this year. It’s cost savings I would imagine.

My period changed significantly for the better. In my late teens and early twenties, my cramping was so painful that I vomited and even passed out a few times. Once I was taken to the hospital (even though I didn't want to go). I had my first baby when I was 26, and when my period returned, it was painless. Fourteen years (and four more kids) later, I hardly know I have a period. I realize this comment might not be helpful, but I guess I just hope that it is an example that periods can totally change.

Of course you deserve to have feelings! And of course you deserve to express them! It breaks my heart that you feel any different. Those who say you should shut up and can’t see you as a human being only do so because they can’t see. :)
