Nice Video... You will need to connect the second XLR out from the main speaker then connect the XLR input to the second speaker. The Bluetooth only work for one streaming. You still need to use the xlr cable to do a daisy chain. Hope this helps

I just traded in a Bose S1Pro, which was almost 4 years old, for the Everse8 and started testing it today. God, man, talk about a learning curve! I had no idea of the difference between GEQ (Graphic Equalizer) and PEQ (Parametric Equalizer)...!! :) When I started testing, I simply connected my cellphone by Bluetooth and played some songs on Spotify; the sound quality/fidelity was disappointing! I thought, oh crap, what I have done, gone and turned in the S1Pro which had pretty good fidelity, for this! But I said no, there's much more than meets the eye. I fiddled with the EQ on the cellphone, the EQ on the Everse8, tested a microphone, and so on. I plan to use the presets already available instead of struggling with EQ. One thing I noticed immediately, that the speaker VOLUME was far higher than the S1Pro when I plug in a dynamic microphone. It was pretty pathetic with the S1Pro. All said and done, this new speaker is not a simple plug-n-play toy! Lots to learn! A couple of hours later I felt quite relieved, that this is a next-generation battery powered speaker and I'm glad to have traded in my S1Pro.

@@SunnyBeeRandomTuber oh, so sorry, it has been a few months since I used the Everse 8, having been in India for three months to help take care of my aging mother. The Everse8 app is very useful in playing around with the EQ to your satisfaction. It is difficult to find the right setting, even the volume, using the knobs on the speaker itself. No worries, I am sure you will find the right settings that will please you. OK, I just turned on the Everse8 and opened the EV QuickSmart app. It opens to a simple equalizer, with Bass, Mid and Treble. Mode has choices of Live, Speech, Club, and Music. Has to be on Live for a PA speaker function. Tapping on Edit Mixer brings up the inputs 1, 2, and 3/4. Below that is the FX, which I had set to Reverb Room Soft. And the main volume. Tapping on each input shows the settings for that input (like microphone) with its own treble, mid and bass. Plus Comp, forgot what that is! Tap on the FX and you can pick the reverb settings that suit your tastes and the venue. You can store all your settings as a preset. Just have to spend an hour or more experimenting....sorry!

Wow, thanks Leo for pointing out the fact that instrument input signals don't carry over to the wirelessly-linked additional speaker. They certainly don't call that out in all the numerous videos and marketing materials on this speaker. Thanks! :)

Bluetooth linking does not work with any of the systems that I have found. I own the Mackie Thump Go and I also have some Bose L1 pro 16s and the same thing applies. One thing I would recommend, you should look at using the Sennheiser G4 lapels as a wireless system instead of the Bluetooth transmitter option. More expensive but way more reliable and powerful in terms of distance and signal integrity. AgiProDJ has the full system with one transmitter and two receivers. Then if you use them in reverse you have a traditional lapel microphone system 😊

I have a cheap Guitar center AIO pa that wireless connects a second speaker for a stereo pair... and it transmits all the input channels including mic/guitars etc seamlessly without issue.. I believe in this case its a matter of EV using a shared chipset for both bluetooth input from a phone or whatever and the second speaker link crippling full function of wirelessly connected stereo configurations for live performances. If they used a dedicated chip attached to the dsp main output to feed the signal it would work perfectly fine.. although, to be fair, its often a proprietary low latency wireless communication between the speakers and not necessarily "Bluetooth" to overcome inherent latency issues associated with the protocol. If you google Harbinger mlx900 from Guitar center, this unit does it seamlessly and is often on sale for $399. So basically your point is mute. Its a great system under 500.. but lacks any real effects.. requiring a dedicated mixer which kills the whole "built in mixer" concept. But I did get spoiled wirelessly connecting a stereo pair configuration of the master mix on the main unit and thought this would not be an issue looking at higher end options. But apparently it is. Someone will get it right eventually.. EV got close here. Small footprint, big sound, decent effects and mixing.. solid bluetooth inputs... but lacks scaling wirelessly even though they market "true wireless" scaling, but at the end of the day.. it's a win for Bluetooth DJ's and a fail on the wireless scalability front for a good chunk of EV's target market here.. small bands wanting a wire free, battery operated, portable STEREO PA without the cable mess. If a $400 Harbinger PA can do it... what's your excuse at a $750 price point?

You can’t transmit via Bluetooth for the reason you mentioned earlier in your video (the delay). Also it would require the speaker to be equipped with an ADC Bluetooth converter (which it isn’t). Basically what you are trying to do is currently impossible, you can’t mix and match analogue audio with Bluetooth transmission between two units.

@Housemix10

After giving this some thought you could mix with these speakers connected via Bluetooth. You just can't use them as the reference monitors. You would need to either use your headphones or another speaker connected to the Booth output of your Mixer or hard wired to the mixer. That would be the speaker that does not have a delay. The Bluetooth connected speakers would simply amplify your main output. The Main issue is connecting your mixer to the Output speakers via Bluetooth so you can then connect the second speaker via Bluetooth also. I have a plan for that. Stay tuned, if it works I will post a follow up video.

@@Housemix10 you are correct, and I have been trying to do this for over a decade now. Really curious to hear more about your "solution". I don't think there's a way to do what you say in a very reliable way though, or I think all the major manufacturer would have come up with such solution. Most digital wireless systems on the market -like the Xvive etc- use WiFi (2.4 or 5.0 gHz) because there is less of a lag (1-5 milisec is acceptable). Looking forward to see what you come up with. Alto has a cheap little bluetooth system, but its also way too unreliable to use as a permanent solution. Works for a satellite speaker during cocktail hour, but I would never rely on it for my mains. I have at least a dozen "wireless systems" gathering dust in my basement for these reasons. The only thing that works reliably are wireless monitor systems, like the Shure/Sennheiser combos; but those use HF so they compress the sound and again you can't use that for your mains if you (like me) want the best possible sound. My personal conclusion after a decade of trying to do this is: if you're ok with a compromised sound, the sennheiser/shure systems work. If you are ok with sound cutting in and out and interference in busy WiFi areas, then the cheap Xvive systems work. However, neither of them is good enough for a permanent main application...
@Housemix10
@Housemix10 Жыл бұрын
@@Realdjheisenberg I would never use Bluetooth or these speakers for my mains during a dancing event. I will only use these speakers for a Cocktail/background music situation. Definitely a beach or no power situation.
@timjohnson5260

This statement isn't true at all. A cheap Harbinger MXL900 ($500) transfers the entire built in mixer to a stereo setup wirelessly. It may not be "Bluetooth" specifications but its is typically a wireless 2.4 no latency connection and there is a huge market for xlr and instrument wireless connectivity. The point being that more advanced systems don't rely on a single bluetooth chipset only and integrate multiple wireless communications technologies for multiple speaker connectivity. This speaker took shortcuts integrating a single bluetooth chipset for ALL the wireless communication thereby limiting it to ONLY bluetooth being able to stream wirelessly to multiple speakers. At the end of the day.. The joke is on the consumer.. It's a point source speaker with a battery attached. It doesnt have "Bose" proprietary premium dispersion technology but EV wants to charge the premium because its "louder". I'd pay $400 for the EV if and only if it transferred the entire (stereo, go figure) mixer wirelessly to a stereo 2 speaker setup. Im sure i will get flamed for this but. wait.. let reality sink in for a minute.. then realize everything i just said is spot on. Want louder, better sound in a small package? Get a qsc k8.2 and a $60 8 hour velcro battery on the back of it.. for LESS MONEY for double the volume, and better clarity/dispersion.. I think the Everse 8 is a nice addition to the portable speaker market.. just not at $750.. with some bogus "true wireless" marketing that only works for bluetooth... give me a break.

Am really surprised that 2 units wirelessly linked units cannot be used for non-Bluetooth connections, which would've been great for live musicians. How much louder do you think a single unit can go compared to what you have in the video? Would really love it if you could play something acoustic as loud as possible outdoors even for a few seconds!

Thanks for watching. These speakers can get loud an for Acoustic music they will be loud enough. A feel a single speaker could be loud enough to hear around a large coffee shop or Restaurant. When the volume is high the speakers lean more towards the higher frequencies. Acoustic music does not have a lot of lower frequencies so they will do well.

The only way two speakers will link together and pass an audio source wirelessly is if the Source of the Audio is also connected to one of the speakers via the Bluetooth connection. Yes, within the Bluetooth settings you can select if you want to pass the L or R or Mixed audio. But the source still needs to be coming from a Bluetooth device. Thanks for watching. The answer is Yes. The Mic input is on Channel 1 of the Speaker. Your Keyboard would be on Channel 3/4. If you changed the Balance on your Keyboard to be more Right Dominant it would be reflected in the output of the speakers by changing the Mixout settings on the speaker you have everything plugged into. By Default this setting is L+R. But you can change to just L or R.

@@Housemix10 Thanks for this. When they come in, I plan to go keyboard L/R out, via a splitter, to the 1/8 in on the 1st speaker. I can disengage the FX (not from the app) on channel 3/4. (I had read somewhere that FX was assigned across the board, permanently - not so). I then have 2 free channels and will use one for vocals. Now I can use the app and my phone becomes my mixer (just like I do on my 30M). This process will pass a stereo signal along to the speakers, following your routing advice. Much appreciated.
