So the exact sequence is hard for me to remember, but you can see by the video (toward the end) of me and my friend trying to remove these little fuzz buckets from my room that this was odd behavior.
It was ALWAYS something I wanted to do...touch a hyrax, and if I remember correctly this was the first time I ever touched an adult wild hyrax. It took some mighty warm heat source for them to not feel threatened enough to just flee the scene the moment we came in.
In fact here in Kenya a LOT of people think hyraxes are rats, because when they come across them, most the the time, the hryaxes dash away so quickly that all anyone sees a blur of brown. You don't even notice they don't have tails.
So yeah, this was just the best. The BRAKES she puts on (or he, I don't really know) when we try to push her, was remarkable. You can't really lightly push them away at all. Those legs are muscular!
Someday I will make a proper outdoor heating something-or-rather to attract them to sleep where I can actually see them. Usually they are above my window at night and I can't see them from inside the house.
So anyway, it's been a while since I made a video and I feel like I may have more time to throw stuff up, especially early footage of baby Squiggy.
Thanks for watching my goofy stuff. I feel bad I put no production value into this, but I get the sense that my viewers are okay with just this mish mash of videos and stories and photos. Tell me what you think!
