Catching up about my new car purchase (2024 Santa Fe), a work from home day, morning routine prior to going into the office day, chit chatting about insecurities I'm having during my recent work transition and a pep talk when going through uncertain times.
Hoping by sharing my musings will help someone out there in not feeling alone :)

That segment about uncertainty about not knowing how much to offer up in meetings/overstepping/etc in a new work environment is so real! Since people who talk for the sake of talking seem to have more management visibility and "appear" more competent, I feel anxious that I'm doing myself a disservice by leaning more reserved when I'm not 100% confident in what I want to say. I always thought that feeling disappeared with seniority so it's a little comforting that this is a common experience.

Great to see you Stephie! Changing your mind is totally normal and it shows you are growing and moving forward. I understand the shift of identity which was tie to your career. I can tell you that I celebrated a full year out of public accounting and I no longer feel the need to work the most, the longest, or the hardest. I am discovering having a life outside of work and finding other things that engage me and excite me besides work. Embrace this season, as things keep changing, send you success vibes and congratulations on your wedding!

I relate to this. Im in a spot where i am working way to much and my health is suffering. For some reason i am having the hardest time trying to pull back. I guess im caught up in the rat race? Trying to make changes doesnt seem to be working even tho i tell myself i need to do it. Any tips on how u made this mental shift would b great!
