love the realness. im really glad you shared because so many times when things like that happen, we get embarrassed and hide it. We all need to just hear from each other that we are not alone when we go through little or big things. you are the best.

When you said the vlog was ending, I was like “What, noooooo!! Already?!?” I thoroughly enjoy your content. Also, you cracked me up by showing us the scale of the storage unit. That thing is massive! Lastly, so sorry you had to endure that painful experience!!

I've had a cyst in that spot before. I was also 8 months pregnant!! It was miserable. It's been 10 years and I still have a massive scar. Love that you're willing to discuss this stuff as we need to make it less taboo for sure!!! Hope you're feeling better Michel!!

That cyst removal sounds so painful! I wish your pain was adequately treated. I love that you shared that. There is so much shame surrounding anything in the pelvic area so people end up feeling alone.

I can't even imagine how painful that would've been. My fiance had emergency surgery for a cyst, and he said it was the most painful thing because they went in through his belly button so that is what he had to pack. Hope you get to feeling better!

Girl! I feel for ya and thank you for just being real, being honest. With so many influencers who paint perfect pictures of their lives, this is so relatable. I've had a similar problem when shaving. I'm a previous healthcare worker. I'm sorry that it turned into a staph infection. We wouldn't of known from the wedding vlog that you were going through this. I like your makeup routine and jewelry pieces. So happy to hear you're hanging out with your brother Jinsee (sp?) for fun times. Glad you're feeling good post financial advisor. Take care Michel!

Bless you! Just wanted to say as a fellow person with EDS - it’s a pretty common thing to need a lot more local anaesthetic than normal, we don’t respond to it in the same way! I had surgery on my toe and had to have nearly twice the local anaesthetic!! You poor thing having to go through that pain!! Xx

I had to have that same emergency operation last year and it was SO PAINFUL! They put me under general though so I was completely knocked out for the surgery. The first week or 2 when it’s healing really hurts but then you’ll be fine. Hope you feel better soon, Michel 🙏

@@MichelJanse OMG ME TOO!!! But I was not knocked out, and they had interns come in and watch the procedure. SO I'm exposed to the world with a bunch of new docs just checking everything out. I had the same experience where the local anesthetic felt like it did not work and I could feel everything the doctor was doing. I also had to do 15 minute hot baths 3 times a day for two weeks to make sure everything drained. I am still terrified of it happening again. Girl, I feel your pain. Feel better!

You’re so lucky you were able to sleep through it. My insurance wouldn’t cover it because it wasn’t “emergent” and I had to be awake white they shot the numbing stuff in my area three times (which HURT, I screamed). And I cried out when they took the gauze out.

Michel, I hope and pray you are now fully recovered from your procedure. 🙏🏻❤️ I’m prone to ingrown hairs in that area, and have had a few boils that needed to be lanced and drained. Not fun! And not a subject people tend to talk about, BUT should be aware that cysts and boils and other similar things can occur, how they can sometimes be prevented, and how they should be treated. I’m glad that you shared with us. ☺️ [edited to add] P.S. People with EDS can be resistant to numbing agents. I have G-HSD / hEDS, and this is a problem I have, too.

Michel, I’m just now finally getting caught up with your last couple months videos and want to say THANK YOU for “oversharing”. i constantly feel so embarrassed about any weird body stuff thats going on with me and just wish we could all normalize “weird gross” things happening to our bodies because that’s part of being human! we alllll have times in our life where our bodies are being straight up wack and it shouldn’t be something we’re ever embarrassed or ashamed about. i doubt you’ll see this comment because i know you don’t read that far back on vids, but either way, thank you :)

Dude. You are SOOOOO lucky that they knew to remove the cyst sac!!!! I literally suffered from those damn cysts for years and never had a doctor suggest the sac removal until like 10-15 years after having suffered the first one. It’s very common in that area, and unfortunately I’ve had them develop in other places too 😩. The key is to always have the tiny surgery to remove the sac. Even in the doctor doesn’t offer it, ALWAYS tell them you have a history of cysts and need to have the sac removed!

Michel so so sorry to hear about your cyst I absolutely hate that for you….. FYI I have gotten laser hair removal down there and have virtually no ingrowns anymore. I used to get them periodically sometimes where the panties would be in contact for a while when sitting etc… I had my amazing esthetician tell me that lace panties are the worst because they create ingrowns from hairs (even micro ones) getting caught and twirling in the lace. So.. full cotton panties (no lace trim either) also help to prevent ingrowns. This is stuff young girls need to know! Thanks for sharing ❤️ also love the Mejuri pieces so so so cute!!!!

Yes I had the same thing that happened under my arm it started out as a ingrown hair that doubled in size and I had to go to the emergency room and they immediately put me in a room to have it drained and cut open and packed it was so much painful but after clean all around and inside and pulled a sample to have it sent off to make sure it wasn't cancer I never had any more problems out of that so I'm praying that the same happened for you

I've gotten cysts on my bikini line before numerous times! It happens if you get sugaring or waxing. What helps bring the swelling down and with the pain is putting heat directly on the cyst for a solid amount of time. I use my heat pad and just watch TV with it on and then the next morning it's significantly better!

The procedure you had is very common . I worked in the medical field - the official name is called I&D- incision and drainage . The packing actually is done so the wound is drying out and can heal - ,this can happen at any place in your body .Nothing to worry about- I had this also when I was on a cruise ship - no big deal . Most physicians take a sample of the pus to have it cultured in case it is MRSA . Feel better soon

I would definitely recommend getting laser hair removal when you’re all healed up. I get ingrown hairs really bad that get infected sometimes, so my waxer said I should look into it. It is expensive, but 100% worth it. After one treatment I was hooked and wish I’d done it sooner.

I had something similar several years ago. My doctor told me to soak it in hot water as hot as I could stand and I was given very strong antibiotics. I had to keep it covered if I was not bathing. It was so difficult to bandage because of where it was. Mine doubled in size twice over just a few days. When it started it looked like a tiny pimple. It was not nice. I was convinced it would scar and I don't think it did. Mine was near the same area. I remember that pain. My doctor took samples/swabbed it and sent it off to a lab where it was tested. It was just an infection. He said I had 3 cysts in there...maybe 4. I haven't had another since.

Just wanted to share in case you didn't know but Ehlers Danlos makes anesthesia not work normally. For example, I've never (yes, I've had root canals without numbness😭) been numb by a dentist who isn't my current provider who knows how to numb EDS patients. And I've woken up during multiple scope procedures.😬 In the future you may want to share that you have a clinical dx (right?) of EDS and they should be able to help numb you more.❤️💐

Numbing wears off when it’s infected. Packing is very common. They only take out some of the packing at a time so it heals fully without making a ‘hole’ that will continue to fill up. I find wound care very interesting as a med student.

Hope the healing process continues as smoothly as possible ❤️ I know it's terribly painful and uncomfortable 😣. I had something similar about 20 years ago/your age, around the time of college finals (I could not sit to take them all!). I was also going on a road trip from Maryland to the beach in Florida, in a Miata...yikes! I had like 4 of them at once and they scarred. The only issue I could think of at that time was new hormonal birth control. Ugh. Best wishes for a healthy second-half of the year!
