Dating yourself, even in marriage or relationship, helps you MAINTAIN your standards…. For them and for you! If your partner sees the time and care you take into spending quality time with yourself, they know what you still expect from them. Why would I settle for less if I’m giving myself the best? 👌🏾

No one told me about solo dating. I started in high school around 15. I got tired of waiting on my friends and boyfriends to go places with me if our schedules didn’t align. So I started going places I could go alone like the movies, bookstores, coffee house, mom and pop restaurants. Now I can go anywhere alone, including the other side of the world. All you need is you, sis. 🙌🏾✨
@MarrissaBreann2 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I’m not waiting on anyone. I’m going with or without someone tagging along.
@alexisagginie45742 жыл бұрын
This true. I used to pine for company of friends to go places. I go solo and am happy doing so now. There are times when company is better. But I can move around by myself and enjoy every moment.
@SomeRandomBlackWoman2 жыл бұрын
@@alexisagginie4574 I feel the same. Like man, it would be so dope to share with another…but not enough to miss out for myself. A lot of times, if you look open, people will come up to you! Sometimes rolling solo will give you experiences you wouldn’t have if you went with another person or a group.

I’ve been solo dating for many years. No one person can make you happy, you will die waiting on someone to fulfill your every need. I’ve been married for 20 years, and continue to solo date. It’s important not to lose yourself in someone else. At the end of the day, I can always depend on myself to keep me happy. You remind me of myself at your age, always put together. You’re a beautiful young lady, and I pray you continue to live the life God intended for you.

Great video as always!💞 I agree with you 1000% when you talked about not agreeing with the “black only” mindset. I support businesses and individuals that are good TO and FOR me. When it pertains to businesses, I’ve actually had the worst experiences with black owned businesses and professionals. My last therapist was amazing and she was a white older women who was wise and a woman of God. So I don’t assume or judge🥰

This video was perfect. I'm so happy you are telling women to love themselves. I was that woman who wanted to do everything with someone but I learned fast people disappoint. I have learned to do everything with me and I love it. I am my best company. I even took a few solo vacations. You are right no one cares if your eating alone, vacationing or sitting in the park. I also took off my superwoman cape and I learned I don't have to do everything by myself and be this super strong woman. The most important enlightenment I continue to receive from watching every single one of your videos is your suggestion to us; as your followers, to get to know who we are for our own personal selves and love what we discover. That we have to love is completely before we can love someone else. This resonates with me daily because we should be learning something new about ourselves daily. Contentment, yes I’m all for it sis.. growing up, I always spent time alone and still do, enjoying your company and being comfortable about who you are is key. I was single for six years before I met my husband and marriage was never something I focused on, my attitude towards it was if it happens it happens, if it doesn’t it doesn’t either way my confidence was defined in that I am a child of God and I am perfect just the way I am.. love yourself first and know that you are deserving of all good things, single or not 🌺

Exactly, Nesisa. Men are necessary. We love, appreciate, and honor them, but we cannot put the pressure on them to “complete” us and make us happy. Men are NOT our entertainment. There is so much more to do besides sit around day dreaming about marriage and romance all day.

On solo dating…(1) I read a long time ago that if you’re single you should solo date. Men are more intimidated by going up to a group of women versus one woman. (2) As a married women with a husband whose schedule doesn’t completely match her’s (and even if it did) I want to enjoy my life. If he’s not interested or not available I still want to be able to do the things that make me happy.

No one ever told me about solo dating, but I'm and only child and quite often too many people around me irritates me. Before getting married and having kids, solo dating at the movies was just a pleasure to me. Good for you! I always advise my clients to shop around for a therapist that feels right. Regardless of ethnicity, gender, or anything else. I think as therapist we have a responsibility to present ourselves authentically in our profiles and/or the intake and make that client feel free to make a different decision if it doesn’t feel right for them. At the end of the day I just want my clients to get on the other side of what they’re facing… whether that’s with me or someone else.

Its supposed to be our natural state. I'm Hispanic, and also have had great white counselors. A different mindset than that of just "struggling" makes all the difference on how we navigate a more successful life.

When I went to college I had a white male counsellor and he was one of the best therapists I had. He helped me come to my own realisations on my own without forcing his own opinions. Had another therapist (white woman) who was terrible not because she was white but because her advice didn't work for me, she seemed inexperienced. Honestly all comes down to the connection not just race/culture imo.

You should try parchment paper when you bake. It's so good for no fuss baking especially pulling out bake goods from pans!

Actually sis, the pan I used to bake it was a no fuss baking pan lol so I didn’t need any parchment paper.

I completely agree, sis. I’m so tired of seeing so many podcasts on romantic relationships. I’m really tired of the podcasts degrading women and trying to make women feel like nothing for doing something other than choosing to be wives or girlfriends. We need something else.
