My dad passed away in March due to Covid and the hospice nurses reminded us that at the strangest moments you will just cry. Something or someone will remind you of something that reminds you of him. Cherish your memories, talk about him, and remember, you do not need to apologize for crying or speaking of him. It is your therapy! 💕

I am so sorry. I lost my dad to prostate cancer when I was 17(I’m 34 now). What I wish I knew then was that openly grieving was what I needed to do. It took me 10 years to get into therapy and work toward that kind of vulnerability. It’s great to see Sawyer and his mom helping you through. Wishing you the best.

I lost my father inlaw after a really horrible battle with early onset Alzheimers, and my grandmother a few years before that who I was very close to and I was by her side in her last weeks (and months). When I was overwhelmed with grief from losing my grandmother or was overwhelmed with the details of helping my husband with the logistics, one thing that comforted me is that children and grandchildren have been doing this for centuries upon centuries. Everyone loses a parent, it’s a horrible experience but others survived before us, adapted, carried and honoured the memories and lessons those parents taught. We will do the same. Thinking of you and your family during this time, may the weight of this loss become easier to carry with time.

Went back and forth on commenting on this video. So very painful to watch, but wanted to support you in some small way. My dad committed suicide years ago and my family never talked about it. Looking back it really strained our relationships by not talking about it. Healing starts when you have others to lean on and support you through this difficult time. It was so hard seeing him go through it all and to be told he can hear me but couldn't talk back or move. It's been a struggle but I'm slowly getting there. I've learnt that it's okay to have down days. We're human and its natural. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. He will always be with you, watching over and listening. I lost my beautiful Mommie to cancer in June. I feel your pain. I'm still grieving but trusting in God every step of the way. My Mommie was a beautiful person inside and out and she lived life to the fullest. I miss her terribly every day. I have my moments, and I allow myself to have them. I cry, get it out, then carry on. I'm learning a new normal. I had to make a similar video in June, and I'm just taking it one day at a time. My prayers are with you sweet girl! Blessings!

You should hang that bunny photo in your dining room area. He was a man of cooking and bringing your family together over food. My dad passed away last year from cancer when I was 27. When it got really bad I stopped working for six months and moved in with him. I have no regrets from spending that time off and focussing on family. You did the right thing! Also love that you are going to keep so much of his things and actually display it. Keen to see how you do it. My dad was a handy guy so I’m hoping to do some sort of homage to that

I was close with my dad too I was his baby girl. We did everything together. He was close to me and my brother and our kids too. He passed away yrs ago throat cancer. I was with him till the end. I’m right there with you as it was first my mom and cancer, unknown origin no origination point. Then 9 months later my dad passed with the same cancer. Now my brother has been diagnosed with prostate cancer on 2 of 6 biopsies. Life sucks but we have to put our faith in the Lord that he will help us find peace. I was there with my mom when she fist diagnosed with cancer, sold my ;home moved in with her. My boy was first grade and got kicked out of school due to the district' we purchased an apartment close to school. My best friend was director at my childcare business. She later was found to be stealing and ran me out of business. I could keep going but no matter/ what I do. Things don’t change the outcome

I feel your pain honey. I was a bit older than you when I lost my dad to prostate cancer. I took care of him 24/7 until he died in my arms. The hurt you're feeling does get better with time. I’m so devastated for you. I was so close to my dad and losing him was horrible. I had to plan the funeral and burial. It was awful. My mother had dementia, so I also had to get her into a nursing home. I truly feel your pain. I hope you can feel some peace at some point. I was able to find a psychic at the time who was able to communicate with those on the other side... being able to get info from him on the other side really brought me peace. Take care! I lost my dad in September of 2017. I've learned that the grief never goes away, you only learn to live with it. Everyone works through loss differently and at their own pace. Losing my dad has been the hardest thing. I totally relate when you said "who am I going to call". There's nobody that replaces them but people in your life help heal the hole. I still miss talking to my dad...I still talk to him when driving alone in the car. My heart feels for you. ❤
