there is absolutely nothing wrong keeping some favourites that don't currently fit. I fluctuate quite a bit so I always keep 2 sizes of everything in my wardrobe. I mean not the same exact pice cos I find most my clothes in the secondhand but basically I have everything I need in two sizes.

From experience, it’s a good idea to keep hold of some clothes in your old size, even if they don’t fit you right now. I got rid of so many good items that would fit my growing pregnancy body now and I so regret it!

One of my dogs likes water on hot days, the other just likes to stay inside. Playing with toys, Frisbee, ball, tug toy etc are all helpful

"this was my favorite vintage find of all time" - I appreciate that you're thinking of sending it out to someone that's into that team/sport, but I wanted to share something that I went through similarly. My all-time favorite thrift find was an oversized shirt that turned out to be official merch from a late '90s/2000s show I adored. It was unfortunately emotionally/mentally tainted. Couldn't quite let it go, though. Upcycled it with the help of a friend and now it's a nice throw pillow thing. So...I keep the actual thing, but it's not in the form that brings a lot of heavy memories (and the stained part has been chopped away). Hope that made sense!

The purge is so necessary. I am a in and out person for my closets. If a new item goes in then an old item goes out. I was taught this from my mom and it’s a great way to stop hoarding items.

@@MichelJanse my mom has always kept a small bin of basic tops and bottoms that are 5-10lbs up and 5-10lbs down her size because she says every year she may waiver on weight and that way she can always have something to feel confident what fits and not be ashamed during that time

The best clothing advice I've ever received is to always have a few key items a size up and a size down from your usual. Especially as women, our bodies fluctuate so much that it just makes sense to be somewhat prepared so it doesn't cause upset every time something becomes too big or small

Totally normal! Your internal "thermostat" and nervous system are used to the crap since you were in it for so long. It takes intentional working through to change what your nervous system is used to. Breathing exercises and somatic exercises have really helped me, austin has a somatic exercise place as well, you should check it out!

Don't at all think it's silly to keep a couple sizes of clothes around, especially if your weight fluctuates or you expect it to change. I only keep my very favorite items of sizes that no longer fit me, but then I make sure to take them out of the closet and put them in storage (under the bed or something similar). That way they're not making it more difficult to get dressed in the morning, and next time your weight goes up/down you get to wear some of your favorite clothes again! And also just have something to keep you comfortable if you can't afford to repurchase a whole new wardrobe right away. I do the same with bras because my size changes a bunch. I wouldn't keep anything that you're not crazy about if doesn't fit you right now though - not worth the space.

It is not silly to keep some clothes that are a loose on you because once your new relationship is not so very new and you are more comfortable and less giddy (no shame, we all go through that) you will surely gain a little weight and they will fit. So pack those in a container (be sure to include the shirts with collars you love but are swallowing you). Then your closet will be neater and have only things that fit perfectly.
