Six years ago we had to move away from our children and grandchildren-each time we visit it is wonderful and each time we leave it's as if an old wound is being reopened-but as time goes on I think I am growing just a little bit stronger though I still cry every time we go home. I have learned to be grateful for the ability to visit and to cherish memories. Thank you for sharing your trip with us-you can sense the love and closeness with your family from your videos-you have been blessed!

Laura: Your family is just like mine, when I go to Puerto Rico my grandma will make me everything I grew up with in a week!. She is 91 now. It is very hard to leave home. But be happy to know you have the memories that last for ever and took lots of videos to re-live the moment. Hopefully you will visit again soon or maybe they can come to visit you! Will pray for you and your family. :)

Hi Laura, I have been watching your cooking for a little while now, and I just started watching your Vlog. I knew you said you were from Naples, so I clicked on your trip to Italia. when I started watching I realized that your so close to where my family lives! My family from Monte di Procida and when I go to visit my family in the summer we go to miseno, take trips Bacoli, Torregaveta, Baia. It was really nice to see it all. Thanks Laura so much - I grew in Italy (in its north) as a child and even though I'm not Italian, I have strong feelings and memories to every aspect of it's life. No matter - north or south, there is something mutual that connect all Italy's parts, and it could be the wonderful gelato, the flowers in your nonna's veranda, the fam. gathering around the food preparing and eating, etc. Don't be sad: you are a bridge between 2 opposite sides and way of life. I can't tell you two how much I enjoyed this..I'm not Italian but was fortunate to have traveled and lived in Rimini, Italy over a 4 year period in the 80's and I'm sure things haven't changed...lol...My heart will always be with Italy :-) Your one lucky man Joe, you two are wonderful together :-) Thank you for the series and Laura's cooking shows, they're great!!

I am living in Germany for nearly 20 years and every 2 or 3 years (if possible every year) I visit my parents and realtives in Korea. By watching these Italy-Vlogs I could feel some bittersweet heartache, the feelings that I always feel when I am home in Korea. It is never easy leaving your family. I am from Mexico and have lived in Canada pretty much my whole life, but the feeling is always the same: Like your heart breaking in half. I understand how you feel but just remember that you can go again and you will see them and it will feel like you never left because that is what loving your family feels like.

Laura I know how you feel, same happens to me and my Husband since we live in Boston and our whole family is in Puerto Rico so its really sad that when you get the chance to go its for a short time and when you leave is heart-breaking.
