I love financial videos! fun fact… I am only watching your videos now because I like financial videos because one day years ago what I spend in a day video came across my feed. It was a news reporter from Ohio and I’m in Florida (it was Clancy;) that was years ago and I watch all her videos since and that’s how I was introduced to you and now I watch all of your videos. Congratulations!! It’s such a great feeling widen paying off a vehicle. We did a similar approach with our house payments. Paid our mortgage off 10 yrs sooner and we were really proud of that.

Congrats! I had a paid off car but decided to upgrade to an SUV. I traded my car in and have a car payment again. I plan to pay it off quick like you guys did and will not be paying just minimums. Are there any SUVs you love or would wanna look at? Also, I do already own a home but they say if you are planning to buy a home don’t have a car loan since it drops your loan approval amounts.

As someone in their 40s, I wish I could go back and max out my 401k and Roth IRAs in my 20s instead of obsessing over buying a house immediately. Everyone in my age group bought houses right away because of the recession, first time home buyers credit, high inventory of foreclosures. Just assume something will break and you need $10,000 in savings to fix it when you do buy your house. Congrats on paying off your truck! We will be buying a new to us car in the next year and I am dreading the process.

Ohio has a new financial literacy requirement for high school graduation (starting for the current Freshman). I am glad it is a requirement and I hope it helps these kiddos in their decisions!
