Yes thinking about doing a monthly update on the bins so viewers can see how we constantly feed, maintain, and harvest from our worm bins.

Thanks so much for the video, it's very interesting. And I definitely want to see more of the same. Now I need to go watch your other videos to learn how to make a bin and set it up. Have an awesome day!

Thank you so much for watching! Let us know if you have any questions, we'll be your biggest cheerleaders. 😊 We were motivated to do this to have our own castings to benefit our garden.... Have you ever tried this?

@@TheNakidGardeners hey, I have never tried it. I live in me Florida and I compost all over my garden, but haven't done worm farming, yet...😁. I've seen others do this, but your explanation is the best. Thanks so much!

Good video. I just started converting my compost bin to a worm bin because the worms wanted in. I like the time lapse videos too. My favorite is the pumpkin.
@TheNakidGardeners4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. Hopefully, we will have a nice set up for that to happen. I like the pumpkin ones too. Or just anything the worms just devour and show later. lol What kind of worms are you using?
@LiliesandTomatoes4 жыл бұрын
@@TheNakidGardeners Earthworms. I started finding them under the lid trying to get in so I started scooping them in. They are making cocoons in there so they must like it. I decided to not keep the bin so hot so it would be a better environment for the worms. I catch worms 3 times a week by lifting the lid and pushing them in. I have a video on it that will post next week.

Thanks for stopping Rob. Yea with all of those cocoons we have from this bin we might be ready to start another worm bin in the next 90 days. Hope you and the family are well. Have a blessed day.

@@TheNakidGardeners We are!Right now we are living in a backyard garden style as well (much smaller than yours in a manufactured home park) and have taken on some of your ideas. My husband loves the homemade laundry soap. Although the first batch came out clumpy, second is much better. Our dream is to be more self sufficient on a homestead.

How often do you have to water your garden and how do you do that?
@TheNakidGardeners4 жыл бұрын
We do the finger in the soil test to see when it needs watering. We have it down to a routine now to have the irrigation system on once every 2-3 days. Depending on the temps. Fall season we might water twice a week. Put the irrigation on 60 mins each time.
@dixsigns17174 жыл бұрын
Hey Nakid, what is your moisture source for the worm bin? I am very interested in this subject.
@TheNakidGardeners4 жыл бұрын
We put in frozen food waste every 7-10 days. Wrap it in newspaper and put on one side of the bin. IF is to see it is too wet, I will add some carbon source to it aka coco coir, leaves, peat moss (even though you need to watch the acidic level due to the worms), cardboard, sawdust, shredded paper. If the bedding is too dry, we add more nitrogen fix items or wet it down. slightly.
