Yes I was looking at that when I was editing ... but I think its ok, the GH5S can do that sometimes. It does depend on the background.

He does a side by side of the G80 and G90 while walking yes, in his other videos he goes over specs etc - in his walking video there was no obvious pulsing, it out-performed the G80 very noticeably. Seemed pretty snappy. He was using C-AF and Face/eye detect and the 12-60 kit lens

Uncaged thanks for the update, I was not using the kit lens so my lenses mayneed a firmware update to work on the G95. May do a video tomorrow with the GH5 vs G95 in AF face tracking and use the kit lens.

Seems like they have fixed the autofocus issue in 4k that plagued the G85, seems very useable now

Another super cool video Darryl, and super helpful for me. I am planning to used this exact setup (G95 + Pana 8-18mm Lens) for our Japan trip shortly. Trying to take just 1 camera and 1 lens to keep nimble & light. I rekon this is the ideal setup as I will be doing lots of vlogging and lots of Stills. This setup should do a good all round job of both. Still tempted to take my tiny G100 camera also though, and that 15mm Leica lens!.. Always a difficult balancing act, to get as light and compact as possible but still cover all the bases well..

Interesting camera. You used no gimbal? The movie has quite good stability. Only the Af switched very often between your face and the background. That could be improved…

Hi Georg, no gimbal all handheld. Sadly the AF is not prefect, reminds me of the GH5 when it first came out :)

TomJoeSHOW never had a problem with the GH5, most people made a big about it, but sometimes it would miss and never come back, the G95 does come back :)

Amazing ! From 0:07 to 1:09 the very short 1-minute period Darryl stood and talked in front of the camera, there were 12 TIMES OUT OF FOCUS BREATHING !!! Just how much longer does Panasonic has to cling to this lame Depth from Defocus AF system that they defend so much about ??

For vlogging he'd be better off with manual focus. Ideally could use a wider lens, such as 7.5mm Laowa (manual only). This has greater depth of field. Just set it up and don't touch focus, and keep face within depth of field. Forget autofocus. But on plus side Panasonic does have great IBIS.

@@ianstobie Yes, you and I would go for a greater depth of field and focus manually; but Darryl cannot do that. He will be kicked out of the V-loggers Union if the background is not blurry. His work needs to to cinematic. Here on KZbin cinematic means that something needs to be blurry in every shot. Forground or background - it doesn't really matter.

Well ... before I came to NZ I was a tea drinker, sadly NZ does not have good tea so I turned to coffee .... I not the best person to tell you that as I know I drink way to much coffee as I own Metro Cafe in Auckland :(

Thanks for sharing. Very cheerful color reproduction with 8-18. Would be helpful if could get the same color by Panasonic in a prime 8 focal length and stabilized, waterproof. Maybe a prime would be lighter but do love what 8-18 is. Nice new camera body option 📷

I wait camera full sensor no crop 4k 120 240 hz budget friendly and closer tech to smartphone...CPU ram memory..I'm still waiting to be better 1080 and 4k on phones too. More of weather seal on some models.

Nobody wants or needs over 30-60 fps 4k. Smartphones are lower tech and way behind cameras, a tiny sensor is worse no matter what the phone makers tell you, megapixels are also a scam.

Very annoying to watch you looking at the flip-out screen. Look at the lens if you want to engage with the viewers. You need to learn to use the screen to establish focus and composition at the start, then monitor using peripheral vision. It is ordinary human psychology that you tend to distrust someone talking to you who doesn’t look you in the eye. The distrust effect is less strong with video, but still applies because annoyance replaces the distrust. I prefer a side screen because tilt-up screens interfere with hot shoe mounted things like mics and lights, but for people who find it difficult to take their eyes off their own image, tilt-up screens are actually much better, because we seem to be much less bothered by someone looking at our forehead than at our shoulder.

Your face is pretty much soft and out of focus for 90% of the video. Panasonic has completely LOST FOCUS on what's the most important feature that they should have fixed years ago! The Video AF sucks so bad!!
