I am glad that you are educating people about delivery. People don't tip and they have to understand that what we do it as a service and we have to use our cars pay for maintenance , pay for gas and our time and not get paid is sad. Customer's should be happy and give regardless as it is something they are not going out to do. I think the customers are taking advantage of the drivers and not being thoughtful. If they don't want to pay then they should not use the service just go out and get it themselves. Yes most people who are doing this are people who got laid off and tourism is hard hit.

Thank you. It has been a while since I’ve done any gig work but I might need to it again temporarily due to some possible circumstance in the coming few days or weeks in the hospitality business. I understand you completely and I do get the customers POV but we as gig workers provide the majority of the work , supplies, and equipment while the companies only provide the software and payroll. It’s a sad reality but we still have to find our best way around it and do a great job. I do try to go above and beyond with very few positive perks on the end result but those very few makes it worth it. I’ve had awesome caring customers that tipped me handmade masks during pandemic. Even gave me heavy duty paper bags to use on other customers items. Also gave me genuine gratitudes and a little extra for me to afford lunch. We just have to make it work and do our best.

howzit braddah, hope you doing well man. just curious, do you still do instacart/shipt or not anymore since tourism seems to be back? also, how are hawaii people in terms of tipping and their mannerism based on your interactions? overall would you say it was worth it as a side hustle?
@Felgood808 Жыл бұрын
Sup🤙 I don’t do instacart or Shipt anymore due to high gas prices. If I do need to for side hustle I would do Shipt delivery only. Usually from work to home route. But I haven’t since I got back to work. Tipping is decent but not great. Although there are those very few customers that makes it extra special or worth doing the job. It depends on the locations I think. I did pearl city to ko olina to wahiawa triangle. I’ve had hood people mostly but there are some sketchy ones or just rotten bastards here and there. You just gotta do the best you can and do what needs to be done to not get bad reviews. Most importantly is document everything. I used apps and my phone camera a lot. Video and image screen shot phones is a must. I also notate everything and keep receipts of transactions, meals, and gas. Honestly it was a good side hustle but now I think it’s not worth it due to gas and economical situation if the world. I could be wrong which I hope but I don’t really know how both gig works are currently since it’s been so long since my last gig work. I hope this helps you and feel free to message me here or on my IG. Aloha🤙

I totally agree what you saying because I do IC in Honolulu area for the past couple of month, and now I am very careful when I accept a batch. Because IC seems really don't care about us and making such a joke, ridiculous batches daily. Especially when they piggy back NO-TIP customers on top of the other. So yes, I think everyone should become more careful and don't accept batches which really sucks our times.
@Felgood8082 жыл бұрын
I feel your pain. As you may have noticed now the batches are not as good as before. Yup, shoppers really gotta watch those batches specially the 2 and 3 orders. Low tips and no tips are usually in those 2-3 orders.

Aloha! Thanks for the video, just started with instacart. So I don't wanna go on base can avoid that if possible?
@Felgood8082 жыл бұрын
you can but it may cost you good batches in the process. before you accept a batch. check first where its delivering to. if you know Hawaii's bases location then you can avoid it accept batches to bases. its actually not too bad as long as you know which bases is really strict and your documents for your vehicle are up to date and your license is as well. i avoid deliveries to KBay, Fort Shafter, Hickam, and Ford Island.

@@Felgood808 Thanks Bro for responding, I actually think I'm gonna just look for an hourly part-time. I don't think I have the patience. Kitchens finally starting to open up with that old pay once again so here's hoping 🙏..thanks again Blessed!

@@KNiang-px9um you're very welcome. gig work i don't recommend for FT work and its not consistent. some days are hot and some days are just not. at least at an hourly its consistent and very little wasted time. good luck and take care.

You left something out how much are you making a week doing this
@Felgood8083 жыл бұрын
it depends on how much you wanna hustle and if your not picky on the batch like me. I try to make at least $50 a day at the lowest but $100 a day is good for me. it really just depends on your hustle. honestly its not for a full time gig. its mainly for extra cash.

Do you bring your own bags or how does that work being that Hawaii doesn’t do Bags for free ? How do you carry the customers items ?
@mauinui102 жыл бұрын
Thats exactly what I wrote to Shipt 4 hours ago. LOL I just got the word I was hired this morning after a week wait. I guess their opening new zones near me. I am getting excited but the bags, what to do. Amazon has biodegradable bags I suppose could be rebagged in once you get to your car. I have a feeling that I will be bringing in the food for tourists. I bet 90% will be for short term rentals.
@Felgood8082 жыл бұрын
i normally don't bring a bag with me. everything goes in the cart and i roll the cart all the way to my car. then i bag them in my trunk. i have a box of t-shirt bags that i havent used from a long time ago so i use those. another option i do is to use small boxes that i got from costco on my instacart orders. if i have to ill buy a bag from the store and yes it will be charged to the customer so i try to just get a few and mention it to the customer at delivery. i usually explain to customer but i try not to buy one. when you deliver its good to have one of those folding aluminum hand trucks. helps me out all the time. you just never know if you will be delivering at a building or have to park far.

Just brought Shipt to my side of Maui. Just got hired and wondering whats in store for me. 70% of all people here on the west side are tourists. Im good with that but it could be crazy.
@Felgood8082 жыл бұрын
congratulations. so you will most likely be delivering to hotels then. or air bnb locations. just be careful when delivering 'cus you will asked by Shipt for signature confirmation. i made a mistake of not tapping on the "delivered" button before letting the customer go back to their room. i had to call the customer back to the Bell Desk for the signature. most hotels will not let you deliver directly to the room so most likely you will have to meet the customer at the Bell Desk.

I just realized that “medicines” was not typed in on my tip to you regarding being careful delivering them.
