I think wall art that includes stable scenes of horses might be a nice touch to further connect your new cinema room to it’s former use. I enjoyed seeing the Christmas trees go up, and the tour of your new cinema room decor. We’re having renovations done to our house at the moment, and our old master suite is being converted to a television or movie room. It was fun, and helpful to see what you’ve done with your room. For the walls I’ve got two suggestions: large prints of Toulouse Lautrec Parisian style photos of moulin rouge dancers. Look at Alphonse mucha too. Secondly; you could look at The Ivy grill restaurants who do that layered gallery style so well. Similar colour palette to yours too lots of green!

I think art in the beautiful newly redecorated cinema room is tricky because the it will mostly be dark in the room when you are in there, but you never know what it might be used for in future! I would say some subtle, vintage move posters, or maybe some vintage holiday posters, graphic but classic.

Since the room is now a Cinema or movie room, I think the only wall art that makes sense is to use framed movie posters of yours and Mikes favorite classic movies.

The cinema room looks so cozy! I used to work as a framer and my recommendation for art / photography for walls is to collect pieces you love and/or use things you already have and love, and then frame them in a way that's best for the piece (instead of framing them to match the room or a specific style). Sometimes this means custom framing, but this could also mean a super simple frame from IKEA. Then you can mix and match from those framed pieces for the room. It will end up looking eclectic, but will still *go* if that makes sense. Even if you have a theme for the art in the room (e.g. horses), this would still apply. I think people get into trouble when they decide they want to put a specific piece in a specific room and then try to use the frame as a bridge to match the piece to the room. Frame it only through the lens of the piece, and then "shop" your framed pieces for the room. I hope this rambling makes sense! The only exception to this is if you're doing a grid photo wall or something. Then, sure, frame them all the same.

My husband was an artist. I am artistic but more dance, choir, theater. We always just chose pieces we loved. No worrying about color matching, genres or styles. Just what we really liked. I've been told my home is very inviting and cool. Who could ask for a better complement. All we did was follow are hearts.

To make art look good together on a wall, the rule is as long as the frames are the same colour it doesn't matter what the art is inside the frame. If you stick with a timber frame, there's a little bit more flexibility in colour. The timbers don't have to match exactly and usually you can still get away with it. You might even be able to use a gold frame in the mix too.
