I’m glad you frogged your knitting, you have to love it. Blanket is a great idea 😊 my porridge is very simple, I do use all milk, so creamy and I put raisins and demerara sugar on the top, gosh it’s making me hungry 🤣 x

Creating a new project you’ve never knit before with those minis seems a very good alternative. They will play better together!

I've been watching your podcast/vlogmas for years, and I always look forward to it. Thank you! I'm American and have never put butter in my oatmeal. I make it similar to yours. Different strokes, I suppose. Merry Christmas!

So enjoying your vlogmas again this year Kate. I totally understand your take on advent knitting. I have now given up knitting them as I go. I open them one day at a time as usual, and then I plan a project based on the total yarns and their colours or themes. I like the idea as well of opening everything on December 1st and then choosing a project and knitting a ball a day as well. Your blanket will be lovely.

Love the gnome pajamas! I fix McCann's Irish Oatmeal with water and add cinnamon sugar and blueberries. As a summertime cold cereal eater, it's nice to come inside from a cold walk with the dog, and it's very filling.

All my grandchildren love oatmeal. They eat it with milk and sugar. And if some blueberry’s and raspberries are on the table they’ll eat those on the side.

I agree with your decision to unravel (frog) The colours didn't please my eye

I use our local knitting shop The Woolly Brew in Pittenweem and they have some really lovely patterns (some free) for all kinds of shawls and cowls.

I’m assuming porridge is oatmeal. I use almond milk&water, chia seeds, cinnamon and vanilla. I change it up adding in nuts or peanut butter or maple syrup. Love it anyway it comes out!❤😊love the pants!

Your porridge looks yummy. Sometimes I do a savoury porridge. I don’t blame you for ripping out the shawl. I agree about the colours. ❤️

Hi Kate! Happy to see that you're going to try something else with the advent yarn. No sense in knitting something that you will not use. Thank you for sharing your porridge "recipe". I put cinnamon in mine and never thought to put chai spice. I'll be giving that a try tomorrow morning. It sounds perfect for this time of year!

Yes! Butter and brown sugar with whatever nuts I have on hand. Berries or bananas are good too.😊

I love your pyjamas, you make sewing looks so easy! I should get back into it, but I'd rather knit... I do my porridge in the microwave - rolled oats, oat milk, water, desiccated coconut, chia seeds and sunflower seeds, blueberries and golden syrup on top; delish! Loving your Vlogmas

Your porridge looks lovely! I could taste it all the way over here in the states!! We use steel cut oats for our “porridge” and water, but I have never heard of butter…yuk!!! Bananas and blueberries or bananas and peanut butter in our house!!

I love porridge because basically you can add all sorts to it , I just eyeball the milk and water!Good decision on the project it needs to be something else .

My porridge is a bit boring. I don’t eat dairy so i use oat milk with porridge oats and a big teaspoon of honey. Sometimes i add fruit, blueberries banana what i have. but not always. I love your porridge bowl. That is fab. Xx

I'm from the states and I've never heard of putting butter in my porridge/oatmeal. I make the basic oatmeal as you do and put berries and either brown sugar or maple syrup to sweeten it. Some times I will put apple pieces in while cooking the oatmeal.

I would have frogged the wrap as well. The first 3 colours and then that random bright blue weren’t cohesive at all. I hope you enjoy making the new blanket! I love oatmeal - the spice I use is cinnamon but I’m going to try the chai as I love those flavours!

I am so pleased you decided to frog your wrap. You were not feeling it. It didn’t bring you joy. I agree the colours did not flow or gel. All the best with your blanket ❤🧶😁

I think it's funny that oatmeal/porridge is a subject of debate. Like you said, everyone makes it different. I usually add nuts and dried cranberries.

I’m in Alabama, USA. I have eaten oatmeal since i was a child. My mother always put butter and sugar in it because i was a skinny girl who she tried to fatten up! I still put butter AND sugar in my oatmeal as a 76 year old!😂😂

My grandsons will tell you that Memere (me) makes the best oatmeal and ask for it every time they sleep over. Oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon with water and when ready I add a little bit of cream. I’m going to try yours next time I have bananas, yum!! I love 💕 your pj’s and I just finished making my grandsons and their parents their Christmas pj’s yesterday ❤Kathy from Massachusetts

I make mine with water in the microwave. It's quite thick and I eat it with butter and salt, but I don't know anyone else who does that; my parents ate it with milk and sugar. I live in the US. I don't think your Advent yarn has enough contrast for that blanket. Why not wait until you have it all and then maybe reknit the wrap with the colors in a different order?
@tamaratafoya94669 сағат бұрын
Oh, how do you make chai spice or is that something that you can purchase? I have never looked for it.
