When we had chickens we'd hang a whole cabbage from a chain from the ceiling so they could reach it. It gave them something to do during the winter while they were cooped up - lol. They loved pecking at it. --Barbara

We live an hour from our church. We made sure they had a huge kitty pool full of water and lots of food, and they were perfectly fine ☺️

I always have someone check in on my pets if I leave for the day. I don't have a homestead, but I have a dog, 5 indoor cats, and a colony of about 12 cats I care for outdoors. Also to fill my bird feeders too. Maybe cylinder feeders for the chickens and turkeys so they have spare slow Feeders..also tractor supply sells horse trauphs that are huge, you could fill that up with water too
